Using your personal channel to become your "YouTube channel."

I have a personal google account which is connected to everything. All the online logins, password, browsing history, youtube stuff (subscriptions, likes, playlists, comments), my android phone and much more. I won't risk this account for my channel. I would make a new ID for that purpose. So, if someone tries to hack your channel, you don't lose EVERYTHING. Golden rule: Never put all your eggs in one basket. More on reddit.com

I want to start youtube channel but...

Just do something. Put something crap online, make it public, unlist it if you change your mind, put more crap up, get used to doing it. Also think about why you want to be a YTer if you haven't already done it. And think about if it's something you really want? Is it really? If it is, you'd put up with the pain, wouldn't you? If it is and you haven't already subjected yourself to the perceived pain, then ask yourself why not. There's nothing wrong with not being a "youtuber". If you want to put videos on YT, then put videos on YT. If you have a burning desire to get your message in front of people or to entertain them, just do it. If that desire isn't actually that strong, then don't. You can learn all the technical stuff and buy proper equipment later. You have everything you need. More on reddit.com

I like many people, have a regular YouTube channel that I use to subscribe to others and watch videos.

Now I would like to ask this. It is ideal to use your personal YouTube channel to become your YouTube channel that you will upload videos to and to gain subscribers?

I am trying to think if there are any drawbacks to this and so far none come to mind.

Should I simply make my personal account my main YouTube account that I will upload videos to, or should I make a brand new separate account for videos?

I myself have a personal channel as I like to keep my "gaming" stuff separate from my personal stuff so as to not confuse the two. It actually works for me as when I want to take a break and goof off on a video or just post it for family (privitised), it actually declutters much on the gaming side.
