Found this review from March of this year: "A few of the boards were warped, making flat pack assembly difficult. The instruction illustrations also failed to depict certain distinguishing characteristics of some boards, like predominant grooves, making identification difficult. Yet now that it's put together it feels solid." So I guess it's a thing and they haven't updated the instructions. As long as the holes are the same I'm sure you're doing it correctly. I am currently constructing the Mydal bunk bed. There is a rail piece I have to use for the end of the frame pictured in assembly that I cannot for the life of me find in the box. There is a similar one that I have found with the same arrangement of holes, but it has an indent that is not pictured in the instructions. Does anyone know if I am constructing this correctly?

Sorry my answer is not helpful but ikea furniture instruction is one of the most …. Funnest instruction booklets. Probably user error on my end but I find that when I’m on step g I have to disassemble back to b cause I assembled it on the wrong side (only 1 mistake but it messes up the whole flow) or something… always fun…. Guess what I’m trying to tell you is to read ahead carefully…. And that patience is a virtue one must practice….

Has anyone ever done this? I've been trying to wrap my head around the most efficient way to disassemble this thing for moving, and even working through the instructions backwards isnt making any practical sense to me. I would appreciate feedback from anyone with experience doing this!

This is the worst part IKEA had ever created! I always prefer their products - they are usually well thought out designs making easy to assemble and disable. I think their engineers were bloody drunk when they made this part!
