Depends on how long your full name is. There is a character limit. My daughter’s full name is 18 characters, 21 with a middle initial, the (.)after it, and the spaces. Her card is first initial last name.

At our bank it would be an option, but not the default. Unless the name was just too many characters to fit on the card.
