Retired my old Weber gas for a Napoleon and it's been great. Got the sear station too but actually I've been using their charcoal insert a bunch. October 28, 2023Considering purchasing the Napoleon Prestige Pro 500 RSIB
Absolutely do it. I purchased my Napoleon Prestige Pro 665 RSIB (same grill, just the larger size) about a year ago. I LOOOOOVE it. Still, every time I use it I love it. It gets SO hot (900 degrees), the interior lighting is awesome, the infrared burner is out of control hot and it looks overall great with the illuminated knobs. It did take me half a dozen or so cooks to get the temperature knobs dialed in to where I want them because the Napoleon gets so much hotter than my old CharBroil, so just a heads up on that. I researched the hell out of grills before I bought via Youtube reviews. My favorite for Grill reviews is Embers Fireplace & Outdoor Living. February 27, 2023Napoleon Prestige 500 RSIB vs Weber Genesis S-435
I had a genesis before. Updated to the 500rsib. I love the build of the napoleon—the sear burner is great for when I just want a quick burger or a steak for me. It’s hot in 2 minutes. Things I don’t like—I end up wanting the warming grates out of the way most of the time. Also while the electrical features are neat—the lights are hard to keep clean and I don’t end up plugging it in so I can move it. Also the drip tray is smaller than a Weber. Small complaints though, when I find the rest of the grill pretty terrific. More on reddit.com

August 19, 2024Napoleon prestige 500- appearance hold up after few years of use?
Just finished my 3rd summer with the Rogue XT and it's fine. Stainless is stainless, I need to clean it bad but that's on me. Everything is still there and functional. Printed logos are fine, nothing is melting. It could use a very deep clean and flame cover replacement, but that is normal grill maintenance in the midwest, rusting flame covers are just a thing. My biggest complaint on the Rogue XT is that the burner self-ignitors don't work well. Right one works most times, other two mostly do not. Makes me worry about a bomb situation if the gas is on with no flame and the lid closed. (Sounds paranoid, but it's happened at least once in my town.) More on reddit.com

I am giving up on my Broil King Baron and I am considering purchasing the Napoleon Prestige Pro 500 RSIB or a Phantom Prestige 500 RSIB I did a search in the sub but did not see much. Any heads up on these grills? The Prestige 500 RSIB is also an option.

I am new to grilling. I have read too many comparisons on Reddit. I just installed a natural gas line on the deck to get a natural gas grill. It’s down to these two grills and I am not sure. It seems like Infrared searing station makes a difference in favor of Napoleon. I’d appreciate a simple answer if possible with which grill you would recommend (quality of grill, longevity, heat output, or whatever metrics you use to find a grill).

UPDATE: ended up buying Weber Genesis S-435 because it is 94 sq inches more in area. The seat side burner was not as important for what we cook. I intend to buy Komodo Joe for so that should take care of ceramic grilling

I'd go Napoleon. Napoleon cabinets are less prone to rust. Where I live Webers, including Summits, have an issue with rust on the cabinet floor. I have a Napoleon Lex 485 which I think it's the older version of the 500. I've also had some Weber Spirits and Genesis with cabinets and they all had issues with rust. I live near SF so it's foggy and near the ocean so it's a particularly rough area. Also, the IR side burner is much more effective than the "sear" burner on the Weber. The only real downsides to the Napoleon is that b/c they're not as common there are fewer third party accessories and parts may be more expensive. Also, I've read that while they have a long warranty, some people have difficulty getting them to honor that warranty.
