My understanding is that there are only 3 upgrades on the PRO the pro has multicolored leds lights on the knobs, not just blue and red the pro has a slide out propane tank shelf, the 500 just has the standard ring inside. The pro includes a small cutting board and ice tray/bin. Aside from those three features, the only difference is the pro has a little more stainless steel, the sides of the lid are stainless I think, compared to the matt grey (aluminum?) on the 500. I think the lid may also be a smidge taller for more inside clearance on the pro. I think i read the Pro also has a stainless side burner grate instead of cast iron. I just bought the 500. I couldn't justify the an extra $1000 dollars for the pro, especially considering I bought the natural gas version so the slide out propane tank wouldn't even be used. personally I'm going to take that extra $1000 I didn't spend and get the cover, griddle insert and maybe a wireless probe controller, and a lot of meat. Absolutely do it. I purchased my Napoleon Prestige Pro 665 RSIB (same grill, just the larger size) about a year ago. I LOOOOOVE it. Still, every time I use it I love it. It gets SO hot (900 degrees), the interior lighting is awesome, the infrared burner is out of control hot and it looks overall great with the illuminated knobs. It did take me half a dozen or so cooks to get the temperature knobs dialed in to where I want them because the Napoleon gets so much hotter than my old CharBroil, so just a heads up on that. I researched the hell out of grills before I bought via Youtube reviews. My favorite for Grill reviews is Embers Fireplace & Outdoor Living. Just got out of a BBQ nightmare so I'll share...
Not a novice to cooking by any stretch - I've cooked on various BBQ's , ny CharBroil burners kept rusting so I decided it was time to upgrade and convert the CharBroil to a charcoal - quite easy, gut and put roasting rack and a pan below to catch ashes - done!
After a lot of consideration I bought a Napoleon Prestige 500 ($1600) - based on a lot of YouTube and other marketing stuff. Realized the grill has serious heat distribution issues. The grill has 1/3 - HOT, MED, Low..now I do a lot of skewer cooking and had no probs on my CharBroil or on friend's Q - some just regular no "brand" stuff!
This was insane - I'd have meat burnt at one end and undercooked at the other.
Napoleon gave me the Dear John treatment till I tweeted out and then had calls to try and solve. Meantime dealer said he has had umpteen complaints on the Napoleons on the heat problem and has started putting a heat map and telling customers about it before they buy.
After a bit of back and forth, the dealer has agreed to do a swap and I will be getting a BroilKing Regal S490 PRO. BTW I'm in the food industry (have been for 40 years) and our Chef bought a BroilKing the same time as I bought my Napoleon. He cannot stop singing its praises.
So in another 2 days, I will have the Napoleon gone! Great warranty doesn't count when it will outlive you and not cook/perform they way it should/ you want.

Retired my old Weber gas for a Napoleon and it's been great. Got the sear station too but actually I've been using their charcoal insert a bunch. Great taste profile for foods that need it and can have the last internal burner going for other stuff. Hybrid-fuel dual-zone kind of solution. More on reddit.com

I’m about to pull the trigger on a new grill and the Prestige Pro 500 seems like a beast.
At $2500 it certainly isn’t cheap, but I’ve done fairly well buying higher quality to get more use/lifetime out of things.
However, there is always a point where the extra cost has a limited value.
Assuming I can afford the extra $1K, is there a real benefit of the Pro?
Is the step up to the Pro worth it?

Fwiw, those Napoleon grills are known for fairly significant uneven heating. Lots of search results here discussing it, like this https://www.reddit.com/r/grilling/comments/rc830r/napoleon_prestige_500_heat_distribution/ Check out the Weber Summit options as well. I went with a E-470 over a decade ago & never looked back. I regularly use the rotisserie (w/ IR burner), sear with the 3 burner 30K BTU sear zone, smoke with it (often low & slow for 8 to 12+ hr cooks). The large side burner is a must have for big pan cooks, like homemade stuffing, etc. I'd highly recommend NG too, never run out of fuel & less expensive to use than propane & charcoal.

I am giving up on my Broil King Baron and I am considering purchasing the Napoleon Prestige Pro 500 RSIB or a Phantom Prestige 500 RSIB I did a search in the sub but did not see much. Any heads up on these grills? The Prestige 500 RSIB is also an option.
