We bought a 1959 home that never had any updates it seems. One of the challenges I face right now is in trying to find an adequate replacement bathroom vanity within fiscal reason. Since the bathroom is fairly narrow, the existing vanity is about as big as can be: 60” wide and 18.5” deep to the wall, single, centered-sink. I’ve come to learn the hard way that almost every 60” vanity is 20-23” deep these days. For my bathroom this would extend beyond the door opening and look odd.
Any advice or past experience is welcome. I
have a few questions too:
Is it worthwhile to keep the vanity cabinet (wood, decent shape, ugly doors) and just replace the counter top?
Countertops are also commonly 22” deep for 60” length. Is it a worthwhile risk to buy one and shave a few inches off?
Custom countertops - Will this bankrupt me?
Consider going to a 48” vanity, where i see a few 18/19” depths here and there, at the expense of losing counter space?

Anywhere I should look for a vanity that meets these specs? Google is failing me. No luck big box stores, Wayfair, Overstock, etc.
I have a narrow bathroom....so narrow that the 21" (standard) deep vanity I ripped out, they cut a notch in the door trim at the counter top...so 3-4" less cabinet would be ideal.
I had a 60x18" Fresca Imperia I bought but the vendor lied on their website and said it came with a top, then blamed the manufacturer when it showed up without one. Nearly $1200 spent and they want me to pay another $400 for a top. 4 months of fighting and credit card disputes before they finally agreed to take it back.
I'm having a hard time considering $1500-2k for vanities I've found elsewhere. I've got maybe $5k into this whole bathroom reno, so 40% on a vanity seems insane.
I'm also open to finding a 24" x 18" sink base and 2x 18"x18" drawer bases and joining those. Or 1x 30" and 2x 15", and I can do the top separately.
Must be single sink. Don't need or want double.
Want to stay under $1200 with top or $900 with, as I have a granite place nearby that is relatively inexpensive.
Shaker style cabinets. One height...don't want one with center 3" taller than sides. Gross.
No floating/wall mount. Don't want big open space underneath with a free standing (like for towel storage...open toe kick is fine)
Lighter color so the bathroom doesn't feel small with darker color.
