Hi all,
We're remodeling or galley kitchen with a small dining area at the end that is ~8' x 8'. We previously had a 36" wide table that expanded from 48" to 60". The length is good but with chairs the width made it a bit cramped to move around. I'm looking for some options in a narrow expandable rectangular table that can sit 4 regularly and 6+ occasionally.
Thanks!
I have scoured the Internet for days so I may be SOL. But maybe some of you own or are aware of specific recommendations? I have a very narrow dining space. Even 36" across would probably be too wide for a table. But I do have some length to play with. Want to fit six people.
So looking for something ~30 to ... Maybe like 33 inches across... Any further is pushing it... And at least 65" long, up to 78" ... Maybe even up to 90-something inches if it's the kind that collapses/extends.
It seems like basically the only tables that are made with close to these dimensions are: 1. A simple folding table from Walmart (30x72) or 2. Certain "farmhouse" and "industrial" ones, but you have to really, really look for it. And unfortunately the few I found were like 27 inches wide. Which seems to be taking the narrow thing too far to the point of not being functional.
I did find something at Ikea under the Tonstad (sp?) line that almost fits the bill. Otherwise I'm out of ideas.
Any help is appreciated.
ETA: For anyone going through the same struggle who happens across this post... Ikea was my solution. They have several dining tables that fall in the 30-33.5" range (narrow) that also have leaves for extending and sitting up to 6. One brand is called Ekedalen but there were at least 2 others I found in my search. Found one to thrift but they're not badly priced new either.
