You can check it yourself on ChatGPT… 8-20% pop every single time he mentions Powell and the Fed / interest rates. Why? Well, the stock is going to absolutely pump hard if either Powell is removed or rates go down or both. Even if Powell remains on, his term as chair ends May 2026 and OPEN has something like 700m cash to work with. Their burn has reduced significantly and their earnings have shown improvement. No guarantees here, but a lot of it makes sense. Earnings coming up is a huge wildcard. Personally sitting on 48,000 shares and calls for Aug/Sept/ Jan 2027. Currently up 135% or so between the two. The main thing to understand is that is that the market doesn't trade prices continuously, like a continuous function to borrow from mathematics. Trading is a discrete function. And the market can absolutely gap down. A stock can go from 100 to 90 without ever touching 95. That's why market orders are dangerous when volatility is high. Why your limit order at 95 doesn't fill. The outside trading hours stock and the futures set the stage. A lot ppl trade, though volume is thinner. This happens a lot when news comes in overnight or before the open, there's always trades to help price the market. Many ppl will place on the open trades or gtc trades. When the market opens it often just goes to where the premarket went.
