Hi, I don’t really ask for credit limit increases. They’re more just given. Last one was about 8 months ago with NavyFed. If I do so on the App it’s a soft pull? I’m at $3,500 right now but I want to match my other cards at about $6,500. Total of 8 cards with a utilization either paid off monthly or under 1%.
Hi, I have a 20k credit card for a year now. Heard from alot of sources but they where in 2024 that if you use there cell app and request one that it will be a soft pull. Has anyone tried it recently?
When I call they ask they do and a few say maybe if I do it over the phone or login into my account on my computer
So im thinking about having Navy Federal do a credit pull on me to have my the max balance on this card to have a higher credit limit, i currently have a total limit of $68,300 of available credit. My question is, is it worth the hard pull on my credit report , my credit score is in the the low to mid 800’s
I just called Navy Federal to have them disable my automatic credit limit increase. The representative told me that they will no longer automatically increase my credit limit but I would still be able to request it on my own. She also said that if I did request a credit limit increase it would be a hard pull from Equifax. I asked her if this was a new policy and she told me it was not. This seems to go against the general consensus as well as other data points.
What were your experiences with a credit limit increase from Navy Federal?
Hey guys, I wanted to get some insight on my recent CLI experience with Navy Federal.
I’ve had my credit card for about 5 years, but I wasn’t super active on it during college. My utilization has been around 70%, but I’ve never missed a payment. Recently, I requested a large credit limit increase (over $10K). Navy Fed said that for that amount, they’d need to do a hard pull instead of the usual soft pull through the app.
I agreed, but after reviewing my account, they denied the request and never did the hard pull. The reason was that my usage history wasn’t strong enough and my utilization was high.
Since then, I’ve paid things down and my score jumped 70 points into the 700s — all within the last month.
My questions are: 1. Since the higher-limit request didn’t trigger a hard pull, can I now go back through the app and request a CLI with a soft pull? 2. Or do I still have to wait the 91 days before reapplying? 3. And what happens if I don’t wait and just request again anyway?
