A navy pinstripe three piece suit is just about as 'business' as a suit can be. The easy thing to do would be to lean into the business aesthetic - it will look cohesive, smart, and polished. Navy and burgundy are great tie options; plain ties, simple patterns and thick stripes in dark colours will work well. Outside of reds and blues, purples and golds will also look great. A white shirt is the simplest option - it will look good with any tie. Look at pale blues and pale pinks for a splash more colour while still keeping it professional. Under the circumstances, I'd recommend some well-polished plain or cap-toe black Oxfords to complete the look. Now, the harder thing to do would be to lean away from the 'office' look. Get it wrong, and you'll just look as though you're wearing the wrong suit. Loafers might be a way to do it, but I'd be wary of any shoes described as 'chunky' - they could look inelegant with a suit. Bright, warm colours - a pale lemon shirt, or an orange tie, for instance - could help make it look a little more relaxed. Alternatively, a bow tie will make it look less 'business professional' and more 'old fashioned academic,' if that's your thing. More on reddit.com

I was in Macy's yesterday trying on some of the Tommy Hilfiger Suit separates. The trim-fit cut actually fits me very well, and the quality feels solid. I purchased the Hilfiger Blue Sharkskin jacket/pants. While there, another suit caught my eye. It was this one here: Navy Pinstripe Suit.
Being that I love how these suits fit me, I'm considering picking this up as well. I'm a little weary of pinstripes, however. Are they outdated? The width and the spacing of the stripes make the suit look more modern, IMO. Just wanted to get some other opinions on it.
TL;DR: Are pinstripes outdated? Would I look like a sleazy banker? Suit in question
Edit: Also, I'm 5'10 and pretty broad shouldered (43/44 jacket size), if that has any bearing on whether or not I could rock pinstripes.

Def less common and popular today, but for a slightly less formal look in a suit I still think they look great! More classic and subtle than a windowpane or similar-pattern suit. Again IMHO they work a little better in a darker suit, like a charcoal or navy, but this one also looks fine.
