Do not listen to people saying pinstripes are outdated. They are classic and timeless. While they do have a business-y connotation, they are just a pattern. And the business aspect can be fun to lean into. Especially since you said you already have 5 other suits, there is no issue buying a pinstripe. Also, there is nothing wrong with it being 3-button. You can wear it only buttoning the middle button, or no buttons at all. Has nothing to do with height either. What’s more important is this suit is high quality. Hickey Freeman’s a well-regarded brand. Judging from the shape of chest and the appearance of the buttonholes, which seem handmade, this is likely a very nice suit. They're definitely a more formal, very business-y suit. And depending on where you work it could be seen as inappropriate (for example, I work in a law office and pretty much only partners wear pinstripes). A navy pinstripe three piece suit is just about as 'business' as a suit can be. The easy thing to do would be to lean into the business aesthetic - it will look cohesive, smart, and polished. Navy and burgundy are great tie options; plain ties, simple patterns and thick stripes in dark colours will work well. Outside of reds and blues, purples and golds will also look great. A white shirt is the simplest option - it will look good with any tie. Look at pale blues and pale pinks for a splash more colour while still keeping it professional. Under the circumstances, I'd recommend some well-polished plain or cap-toe black Oxfords to complete the look. Now, the harder thing to do would be to lean away from the 'office' look. Get it wrong, and you'll just look as though you're wearing the wrong suit. Loafers might be a way to do it, but I'd be wary of any shoes described as 'chunky' - they could look inelegant with a suit. Bright, warm colours - a pale lemon shirt, or an orange tie, for instance - could help make it look a little more relaxed. Crisp white, light blue and faded light pink are all classic staples that look greatwith a navy suit. White is the most formal and I'd consider it the most appropriate for a wedding. Avoid dark or garishly coloured shirts. Avoid striped patterns (it will clash with your suit). Other patterns are ok as long as there's a strong visual distinction between your jacket and your shirt. Normally I'd prefer a french cuff for a wedding, but pairing french cuffs with brown shoes is pretty grim. If the shoes are brogued wingtips, avoid french cuffs like the plague. I'd strongly prefer a shirt without a pocket for a wedding, to remove it from the office-world and towards more graceful attire. Especially encouraged with your pinstriped suit (a very business-like officey pattern). These shirts and a navy suit provide a brilliant base for any number of ties, with darker (non-black) ties being the most "classic" (e.g. burgundy, navy, forest green, chocolate brown). For a wedding, however, consider the value of ties with greater levity and joyfulness. Again, avoid garish colours and crazy patterns. Soft medium blue could be very nice, or perhaps not-too-light pastels and silvers/greys with houndstooth/check patterns are a classic wedding tie .
