6 years is good run for a Nectar. Especially an all-foam one. Getting them to honor the warranty will be a long arduous process. Any manufacturer makes it really hard. If you really like the mattress, you can probably buy a return off Marketplace for 70% off retail and get another 5-6 years and much lower cost. Answer from bkdell11 on reddit.com

r/Mattress on Reddit: Nectar Mattress Warranty Claim Experience
December 7, 2022 -

TLDR: Left a Negative review on Nectar website for a mattress I bought 3 years ago and they're sending a new one at no cost. The process was easy.

Okay... I was shopping for a new mattress after having a subpar experience with the original Nectar all memory foam Mattress. We ordered our mattress Feb 2018 and waited almost 2 months for the mattress. Customer service was terrible at this time....

Fast-forward 1 month ago when I angrily posted a review on their website stating the mattress sagged and my back was in pain. Legitimately, I gave credit where credit was due and didn't completely trash the Mattress. It was comfortable for a year, okay for one, and crap for another. Customer Service ended up reading the review and shot me an email. I explained that pictures may not do it justice, but they insisted on pictures of the mattress and tags indicating manufacturer date and lot numbers.

They agreed to replace it for free upon receiving the pictures, which surprisingly did show divots in the mattress.

Now: I was hoping they would agree to use the cost of the nectar to upgrade into their new hybrid mattresses, but they only elected to take an additional 10% off of the current price. Somehow they preferred to send a mattress for free than up-sell a mattress for about 50% off. Interesting.

Anywho, 4 emails and a call later (in less than 24 hours) and they've agreed to send a new Nectar Original.

Takeaways: Warranty Claim was easy and was approved quickly. I wish I could have upgraded to the hybrid line, but oh well. Currently awaiting shipping info. I'll update whenever the new mattress is received, as the mattress has changed since we first bought the original version. Lets see.

April 9, 2022 -

Hello all, I bought a nectar mattress in early 2020 when I needed a new bed. I've really enjoyed the mattress so far and have had it set up on a queen size box spring since the day it was delivered. But last night when laying down I noticed that the foam appeared to develop a split in the middle right where I sleep. I've been reading some horror stories on here about people trying to take nectar up on their "forever warranty claim."

So to those of you who have had to deal with the nectar mattress return process could you please provide me some insight? Did they ask you to send photographs? Did you have to physically return the mattress? Did they offer a replacement mattress or a refund? And what was the end outcome?

any tips or advice at this point would be greatly appreciated, thank you all for your help!

October 16, 2024 -

Hello mattress hunters!

So over Labor Day this year, my partner and I bought the Nectar Classic Mattress, and dang—it’s really upgraded my sleep.

HOWEVER, there was one small thing I didn’t expect: it’s FIRM right out of the box, more than I thought it would be. Initially, I thought about calling to return it. But honestly, after a few nights, it started to soften up a bit, and now I’m loving the extra support! Either that or I just got used to it.

Oh one other thing, is that it is HEAVY. Took both of us to get it up the stairs so if you’re old and/or weak, be prepared for that.

Other than that, it’s been amazing. The memory foam is super plush and contours perfectly to my body, which has been great for my back and hips. I’ve also noticed I’m waking up way less during the night. The motion isolation is excellent, when my partner moves or gets up to pee in the night - I barely feel a thing.

The construction feels really sturdy too, which is reassuring since I need something that lasts (let’s hope this stays that way) My advice - If anyone’s on the fence about getting a Nectar, I’d say go for it! It’s affordable, and with the generous trial period, you can try it out without much risk.

Hope this helps for people on the fence like I was!

r/Mattress on Reddit: Nectar Sleep ‘Forever Warranty’ a complete scam
November 18, 2023 -

One of Nectar’s biggest selling points is their ‘Forever Warranty’ which has proven to be a complete scam.

We’ve had issues with quite severe sloping on one side of the mattress, making it feel like you’re going to fall out of the bed when sleeping on it, aswell as being quite painful on my back.

Nectar sent out a HomeServe ‘technician’ to check the issue, he identified the sloping but said because we didn’t have a mattress protector on the bed when he came round to check, he would report it as ‘misuse of the mattress’, yes of course, that mattress protector (that we do actually use day to day) would have stopped the mattress sloping issues, right?

We then had a second ‘technician’ out who again, said there was sloping and a ‘compression’ of the mattress, but because he hasn’t slept a full night on it and it raises back to the correct level over time, he couldn’t report it as a fault?

It’s very apparent HomeServe have a contract with Nectar Sleep instead of being ‘independent’ and I wouldn’t be surprised if they get paid a commission to make sure the mattresses are not reported as faulty.

Please, if you are taking the ‘Forever Warranty’ into account when making a purchasing decision, don’t bother, it’s a complete scam and they’ll do everything they can not to honour it!

r/Mattress on Reddit: How to get Nectar to honor their Forever Warranty?
May 20, 2024 -

I have had a Nectar mattress for six years and have mostly been happy with it, but recently it has been sagging a couple inches along one of the edges. I contacted them to have it replaced under the Forever Warranty, and it was deemed ineligible for replacement because of "stains." The "stains" are not excessive, nor relevant to the sagging. It's not even the same part of the mattress.

The Nectar Forever Warranty policy says stains are not covered by the policy, but does NOT say they void the warranty. (You can see what that language would look like in the part about removing the mattress cover.) As long as the sagging is unrelated to the stains, it should be covered. However, multiple Nectar customer service reps have said they consider stains to violate the Warranty. They have repeatedly referred me to the Returns policy, which governs short-term returns, not the Forever Warranty.

In searching this subreddit, it looks like they pull this move a lot, and maybe I should have steam-cleaned it before I sent any pictures. But it seems not just shady but illegal to decide the Warranty policy is different than what they put in writing!

Has anyone who's dealt with this issue gotten them to honor the warranty, or pursued this in small-claims court?

r/Mattress on Reddit: Nectar Mattress "Forever Warranty" Declined Due to Stains?
January 20, 2023 -

Backstory: I purchased a Nectar Gel King Mattress through Amazon in 2018. Arrived with a bit of sinking on the ends, but it didn't bother me too much and I knew I had a "Forever Warranty" so I just moved on with my life.

Fast forward to today, and the sinking has become considerably worse - exceeding 2" on the ends. On top of that, the mattress is fraying in spots, and there's a large bulge in the center.

Alright, time to use that warranty! NOPE - declined because the mattress is stained.

For starters, do they really expect a pristine mattress after five years? Second, how is the staining at all related to the multiple defects present in the mattress?

Looking for advice if anyone has had a similar experience. Pretty frustrating.

TLDR; Nectar does not honor their warranty.

Canadian here, moving out and in need of a new mattress. We wanted to try a "boxed" mattress and tried a Nectar mattress in store (premier I believe). This brand is newer to Canada. The reason why I didn't go with another like Endy, Douglas, etc, is simply because they weren't available in the store to lay on.

Then I come on Reddit and discover all these horrible reviews and claims that these mattresses have toxic chemicals - after I made an order. Mine has not been shipped yet because I've just ordered a couple of days ago. Do I cancel the order???? What the heck do I buy?!

November 14, 2020 -

Hey guys,

So we have had our Nectar for 2017. I followed their process and they are offering to send us a new one.

Has anyone had any luck with partial refunds or anything via them?

I only ask because I don’t know that I want them to replace my mattress with a new one that’s not going to last 5 years.

As you can see this is 3” of indentation with 90lbs of pressure (2x45lb bumper plates)

3” Indentation

We are considering just getting a Novaform Comfort Grande.

Admittedly the idea of a free replacement has perked my ears up as the mattress was good for 3 years, but I don’t like the idea of producing so much waste. 3 years out of a new one would get us to 8 years on our investment which is easier to swallow for me

r/nectarsleep on Reddit: Nectar Premier Mattress Review: My honest take
November 1, 2024 -

Hey everyone! I’ve been sleeping on the Nectar Premier mattress for about a month now, and I thought I’d share my experience for anyone considering it.

Comfort & Feel Right off the bat, the Premier is plush but supportive. The gel memory foam layer really does keep things cool, which is awesome since I tend to overheat at night. I was skeptical at first, but it actually adapts to your body without that “stuck” feeling some memory foam mattresses have. It’s a medium-firm feel—supportive for my back but also soft enough for side sleeping.

Motion Isolation If you have a partner who moves a lot, the Premier does a great job at keeping motion isolated. My partner can get up without me feeling a thing (seriously, I’ve slept through a lot more movement than usual).

Edge Support One thing I didn’t expect was how well this mattress holds up on the edges. I like to sit on the side of the bed when I put on shoes or work on my laptop, and it feels stable, not like I’m going to slide off. I know older Nectar models struggled with this but the latest models are much better.

Delivery This is my only real negative thing is that the mattress is pretty heavy and a bit tough to move on your own (good luck). It also arrived with a broken box, but thankfully, the mattress was well-wrapped and perfectly protected inside. Just something to keep in mind if you’re handling it alone.

Value & Warranty Price-wise, it’s definitely on the premium side compared to some stuff on Amazon, but with the forever warranty and 365-night trial, it felt like a safe investment. If you’re thinking long-term, I think it’s worth the cost, especially with Nectar’s offers.

Final Thoughts Overall, I’m loving my sleep on the Nectar Premier so far. It’s been a solid upgrade in terms of comfort, and my mornings are noticeably less stiff. If you’re looking for a mattress that’s supportive yet comfy and stays cool, this one’s worth a look.

Feel free to ask me any questions—I know it’s a big decision and hard to do real research with all the crap you see on Reddit and other place - so I’m happy to help!

r/Mattress on Reddit: Thank goodness for this subreddit. Saved me from buying a Nectar!
July 24, 2020 -

I just wanted to pop in and thank everyone for being on this sub and helping all of us out. I'm a fairly heavy sleeper around the 250 pounds and about 6 foot give or take.. I've been looking for a new mattress because mine is sagging and has become uncomfortable after 10ish years. I originally got my mattress in-store before there were these "bed in a box" mattresses.

I started my search at the beginning of the week and I've been bombarded with nectar commercials on YouTube and other various websites and thought that must be the best affordable bed option. I was about to pull the trigger when I came across this subreddit and started reading more about it. I've always relied on YouTube to give me some decent reviews but searching for mattresses is all from the same YouTube channels and I don't know if I can trust them.. they all seem so professionally made and from people of average weight/height.

My brother owns a Nectar and he says he likes it, but he did notice it's been starting to sag just after 5-6 years of use and there's a moderately sized indent of his body in the middle of the bed that can't be seen, but according to him he does feel the mattress not "rebounding" as it should be and it is noticeable but not enough to be very uncomfortable. I've also read horror stories of fiber glass going through the cover and contaminating the entire home. Looking up reviews on here, I'm very thankful I didn't pull the trigger on the Nectar. Their advertising must be insane because I see a new commercial from them everywhere I go now..

Currently looking at the Titan Plus Luxe from Brooklyn Bedding. I've read very good reviews on this mattress and other beds from Brooklyn and thinking of pulling the trigger. The bed is much more expensive than the Nectar but if there's anything I've learned from this sub it's that you shouldn't go cheap when purchasing a mattress. Anyone else own the Titan Plus Luxe and can give feedback? Thank you for everyone on this sub! It's been very difficult to wade through all the paid advertisements trying to find real unfiltered reviews!

July 4, 2023 -

Spouse and I just bought a new house and got a new bed to go in it. Seeing 4th of July sales and after having done very basic (not in-depth) research, decided on and ordered a nectar hybrid. Well, I started researching more and came across mentions of fiberglass in Nectar mattresses and am now very concerned. We literally just ordered the bed and frame — it’s not even delivered yet — and I’m concerned enough to consider returning it.

Is this as big of a deal as I’m perceiving? And if so, are there any recommendations for non-fiberglass-containing hybrid mattresses that won’t break the bank? (see: just bought a house)

Edit to add: we also got the bed frame with headboard which I’m also researching and sketched out about… any insight into that as well would be greatly appreciated

r/Mattress on Reddit: Weirdest return process award goes to Nectar
March 31, 2022 -

I contacted Nectar to start the return process on a mattress I purchased and, after the initial steps of chatting, then emailing a picture of the item and tags, I reached out after three days of hearing nothing to confirm they received everything they needed.

They sent back a response asking for a "weight test", gave no instructions on how to complete it, but did send example pictures (possibly from other customers' return processes, from the looks of them).

The examples were a mattress with three bowling balls spaced on it balancing a level, and another with three gallon water jugs with a broom on top of them.

Yeah, hold on a sec, let me go grab the THREE BOWLING BALLS I definitely just have laying around the house.
