All Id recommend from these options is to scratch the nectar from the list of choices ( no offense to Classic__13). But who knows maybe you’d love the mattress and your experience with the company won’t be like others who have come here to complain. Answer from FamousListen9 on reddit.com

November 25, 2024 -

In 2021 I bought a Novaform 14" Comfort Grande Plus Memory Foam Mattress. It's been great I feel like. However as of the last idk, year or so, it feels like it's sagging (but maybe not) and while I can't say I wake up sore or anything, I feel like after laying for extended periods, it's perhaps not as hard as it should probably be.

Also, my wife and I can't handle a queen anymore. We need king. Lol!! Since she's not in love with the current mattress, we are looking for something else, and being a little harder. We are pretty variable in our sleep patterns. Probably 50 percent back sleeper, 50 percent side sleeper.

Hoping not to spend 1000+ would feel much much more comfortable in the 500ish range, but with king size that may be difficult.

r/Mattress on Reddit: Queen Size Mattress Suggestions (Novilla, Nectar, Novaform, Brooklyn Bedding)
March 24, 2025 -

I'm doing my research on mattresses (this will be my first time buying) to understand which will be best for me. I'm about 170 pounds. Primarily side sleeper but sleep on my back sometimes too. Looking for something that doesn't have fiberglass and is around $500 or less. Here are the brands that I've narrowed it down to:

  • Novilla

  • Nectar

  • Novaform (Costco brand)

  • Brooklyn Bedding (Dreamfoam Essential)

Any anecdotal input on these brands or any advice? I'm leaning towards Novaform since it looks like people really like Costco's return policy in this subreddit, but still undecided.

r/MattressAdvisory on Reddit: Finding a mattress similar to Nectar Premier Copper
August 28, 2022 -

I went to a few mattress stores this weekend and I really enjoyed the Nectar Premier Copper out of all the ones I tried. I placed an order online but after finding this subreddit and looking more into the company, it seems like they are not the best brand to buy from (fiberglass, only lasting two years, etc.).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a mattress that has the same feel and is around the same price or less ($1500 for a king) as the Copper? I was looking at the Novaform from Costco but unfortunately there is nowhere to actually test it out for myself. It seems like there are issues with almost all mattress companies, so now I really have no idea what to get.

r/Mattress on Reddit: Looking for cheap queen mattress: Novilla vs Costco (Novaform, Casper)?
July 2, 2024 -

Pretty straightforward -- as the title says, I'm looking for a queen mattress that's preferably under $500. Am a back sleeper and would prefer medium/medium-firm mattress but really not too picky.

Seems like mattresses are really hit-and-miss and don't want to overweight any one opinion, but does anyone have any input on Novilla mattresses (as I read about in NYT Wirecutter) or the boxed mattresses (Novaform ComfortGrande, Casper Cooling Select) sold at Costco? These seem like better bets relative to ones like Zinus and Siena. I view the Novilla as suspect as it's so cheap ($335).

Thanks!

I think the best mattress under $500 is the Engineered Sleep Today. Unlike the options you listed, they are very transparent with materials used. Premium quality, firm coils covered by solid high density foams. It will be more on the medium firm side than medium. A pretty basic combo, but at the end of the day a mattress is only as good as it's weakest layer. This mattress doesn't have a weak layer. The other options have mystery layers. https://engineeredsleep.com/products/today-mattress?variant=40481644019799

I’ve been researching inexpensive twin mattresses for my guest bedroom daybed that we would also occasionally use and wanted to keep it under $500. No fiberglass was also important to me. I also wanted to steer clear of Casper, nectar, purple and generally those big mattress in a box names. I narrowed it down to DLX Essential or Engineered Sleep Today mattress. They both seem to be good companies that are transparent with their materials etc. Ultimately I went with the engineered sleep today mattress because I’m used to a hybrid bed since our bed is a hybrid tempurpedic. I’m waiting on that but they also have a 100 night sleep trial so there’s nothing to lose there. A queen is currently $479 during their July 4th sale. It’s advertised as a medium to medium firm which is good for back and side sleepers and seems to have good edge support. Yesterday, I was at Costco and decided to pick up the nova form 8” dreamaway mattress since they have a great return policy and it’s only $150 for the twin. This is also advertised as medium-medium firm and I don’t feel that’s accurate. MAYBE medium but I can see this becoming way too soft as it breaks in and the edge support is terrible. For a guest bed, this would be fine but not for a main bed. From what I’ve seen, the novaforms are very very hit or miss. For your budget and preferences, I feel your best starting point would be the engineered sleep today mattress.

r/Mattress on Reddit: Help choosing a Costco mattress
November 20, 2020 -

I have been researching mattresses for hours each day for weeks straight and am getting too in my head about it. I want to ideally buy from Costco because of their return policy and price, but am happy to look into other options if they better fit my needs. I would really appreciate some help or suggestions.

I am 5’ 7” around 125-130 pounds. I sleep alone. I sleep on my side and usually wake up on my back. Trying to switch to mainly back sleeping because I have shoulder issues on both sides. I also have lower back pain because of anterior pelvic tilt. Looking for full size. My bed frame is the cheap IKEA pine one with wooden slats.

I like memory foam mattress that are on the firmer side, but still have a softer top layer. I love the sink in feeling of memory foam. I’m not interested in bounce or fast response I’ve foam. I want to sleep like I’m dead.

I currently sleep on an IKEA Mordegal Firm foam mattress and it is terrible. Wake up with soreness/pain and stiffness in my lower back, shoulders, neck. Whole body cracks when I get up lol. I have put a memory foam topper on it and it doesn’t help. Makes it softer but not more supportive.

Some of the best sleep I’ve had has been on a innerspring dorm bed with a 3” Therapedic memory foam mattress topper. I loved how I slowly sank into the topper but the actually mattress itself was still supportive. Can’t find the density of the foam in the topper anywhere :(

I LOVED the feel of the IKEA Matrand memory foam when I tried it in store. Don’t know how I would actually sleep on it but I loved the level of firmness and slow sink. They just don’t sell them anymore.

I also really enjoyed an 8” Zinus memory foam one but want to avoid because fiberglass. Ideally would want something a little softer than that, but with a similar level of support. I liked the Tolu medium firm green tea one too but don’t want to buy from mattress firm.

Right now I am looking at the Novaform 14” Comfort Grande and the Brentwood home 10” hybrid. Want to stay under $600 ideally. I fear the Novaform will be too soft - I looked at a model in store and it seemed way too squishy, but then again it was just a small sample block and not the full size of the bed. I also have had a Novaform mattress topper (non memory foam) before and didn’t like it, but I guess the top layer of this one is memory foam just not sure how much sink it has. I was thinking about the Brentwood hybrid to replicate the feeling of the form bed + mattress topper, but hesitate that the foam isn’t thick enough or that the springs may be too supportive.

I know I will never know how something feel until I try, but I want to make the most informed purchase because I don’t want extra mattresses to end up in landfills :(

I would love suggestions if anyone has similar preferences as me. Open to non-Costco if they have a proven free returns policy. Thank you!

Hey guys! With the recent Costco sale on king mattresses, I'd debating between the the Tuft & Needle 9.5" Memory Foam Mattress, the Novaform 14" Serafina PerfectTemp Gel Memory Foam Mattress, or the Casper Cooling Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress.

If anyone has experience with any of these, let me know! Thanks in advance!

r/Mattress on Reddit: Is there anyone who actually loves their Nectar mattress a couple years in?
October 29, 2025 -

Back in March I stayed at an Airbnb where I legitimately experienced the best sleep of my life. Typically, I wake up several times a night, every night, whenever I stay at hotels/Airbnbs. I didn't wake up one time in 3 nights on this mattress, which ended up being a Nectar. Our mattress at home only causes me grief and is old enough to get it's license, so I've been ready to part ways with it for a while.

I was 100% dead set on buying a Nectar mattress before I came across this sub and saw all the negative reviews. But I'm having a hard time letting go of it because I did sleep on it for several days, so I know it was comfortable to me, whereas going to a mattress store and lying on a bed for a little while doesn't tell me how it's going to feel after several nights.

So is there anyone here who bought one and still loves it after having it for a while? Thanks in advance!
