So, need to pull the trigger on one of these tonight. Zinus is cheapest at 620$ after coupons, nectar is slightly more and Dreamcloud is the most expensive. My wife has requested a hybrid, medium firm, with cooling if possible. Trying to stay at or below 1,000$ for this. The problem is, I can't seem to find a good consensus between the three. All three apparently can use fiberglass so there's that. Is there a clear winner?
For what it's worth, we both tend to start sleep on our sides, we both toss and turn like we're in a fight while sleeping, and both of us are heavy- 250+ pds each. Amazon links for the second two since as far as I can tell it's the same item, and cheaper for the Nectar than the companies' site.

I'm searching for the perf mattress. Some stats about me. 6ft, stomach/side sleeper, prefer plush/soft. Here are my thoughts so far:
Zinus Amazon Mattress - terrible, way too hard/firm but some people who are into that that will like it. Makes a good guest mattress. Didn't smell at all.
Nectar - crappy company, sold me a queen mattress despite it being a full size once inflated. The mattress itself was good but sleeps hot and I always felt like I was about to fall off, the sides sagged way too much. It was comfy but ultimately not the "one".
Tuft and Needle Mint - probably my fav overall. Very strong smell when I unrolled it that refused to go away for at least a week but other than that is quite fantastic. Sleeps really warm but not a deal breaker. Their customer service was outstanding and was really easy with the returns. I'm actually thinking about going back to try the mint hybrid and calling it my final mattress.
Casper Wave Hybrid Snow - ridiculous that this is 3k but it is what is. By far the most disappointing and this is truly a case of overhyped marketing. Mattress itself is comfy but really nothing special. I got the snow edition but it doesn't keep me cool at all. The "cool" feeling only lasts a short amount of time but the mattress gets really hot afterwards. I sleep decently on it but nothing life changing. Def not sticking with it. No smell at least.
Purple Restore Premiere Hybrid - horrific delivery and the purple reps are not helpful at all. The whole delivery experience turned me off from the mattress as a whole. It's massive at 175lbs and it smelled slightly but not very much. The edges are awesome, I finally feel I won't fall off at night. The sleep is honestly excellent and I didn't have any issues with overheating. I'm currently testing it but I'm thinking i'll prob return since it was like 4k after taxes and I'm probably better off with something cheaper like the tuft and needle.

Hello there fine r/Mattress community! My partner and I have been having a hell of a time with getting a new mattress. it's literally been one nightmare after the other and we're at our wits end.
We purchased a Zinus 12" green tea king memory foam mattress from Amazon around 2 years ago after sleeping on it at an AirBnb and experiencing some of the best sleep of our lives!
From that point on, we were hooked on memory foam and had happy sleep for around 12-16 months when we both started noticing a fair amount of pain from sleeping. We believe that the Zinus lost some of its support and that the foam started to sag. Unfortunately, we didn't know enough to rotate the mattress 1-2x a year, so I wonder if that is the cause. Either way - my partner also suffers from bulging discs in her lumbar spine and it definitely acts up depending on the bed. Over the last 3-4 months it got really bad and we decided that it was time for a new mattress.
During Thanksgiving, we tried out a bunch of mattresses and the one that she liked the most was the Nectar original. It felt amazing to me as well! I ended up ordering it through the website due to the awesome deal they were having.
It arrived and we were so happy! By this point my partner was barely getting any sleep due to her back pain - and sleeping on a defective mattress was really messing her back up even more, which resulted in less sleep, etc... A vicious hell cycle.
Anyhow, day 1 the mattress was extremely soft. I talked to Nectar support and they told us that it can take up to 72 hours to expand. We didn't really have much of a choice but to sleep on it, and even though the mattress was super comfy for me, it was causing my partner more unbearable pain. Finally, we decided to return the mattress after 5 days and no improvement. Luckily, we had our old Zinus mattress still so we were able to go back to that while waiting for our return.
I know there has been a lot of negative talk surrounding nectar's return process but it was pretty smooth for us - it took about a week or so for their service to come pick it up. in the meantime, my partner was still in agonizing pain every single night due to the old Zinus not working right.
In a fit of desperation, knowing that her first choice was the Nectar, after doing some research I decided to order the Nectar Premier Hybrid Copper bed (they did grab the old Zinus as well) That came in two days ago and it has unfortunately been the same story so far. We still haven't hit the 72 hour window yet, but my partner has been on the floor of the bedroom since 5am alternating between curled up in a ball of pain and trying to sleep on a spare portable foam pad that we have in the closet. It's like a living hell for her and I am totally at my wits end.
I literally just bit the bullet and ordered a new Zinus mattress from amazon which will be delivered tomorrow - same make and model of what we used to have since it was actually fine for about a year or so. this is our desperate move after almost 5 weeks of trying to figure this out.
We ultimately want to find a better quality mattress than the Zinus, something that can hold up for much longer but we're obviously extremely exhausted from the whole process. I'm not sure what the point of me writing this is - perhaps I'm looking for some guidance and advice in terms of next approach.
Thanks for letting me rant 😱
This thing is ruining my spine. It’s the middle of the night and once again I’ve woken up in a hot sunken divot of spongy foam. I despise this mattress. I loathed it after my first night, yet here I am stuck on it two weeks later. Because what Nectar’s obnoxious commercials and tacky purple website don’t tell you is that you’re stuck with it for 30 days. A month of bad sleep before they’ll even consider taking it back. So if you discover right away that it’s a stinking block of foam with no structure or support whatsoever, you’re SOL.
The customer service rep told me my ‘body needed time to adjust.’ I guess ‘Irene‘ knows my body better than i do. She told me to buy a mattress topper — I’m not gonna spend money on a topper for a mattress I don’t intend to keep. She actually told me to store the thing somewhere for 30 days — my Brooklyn apartment isn’t exactly bursting with extra space. I’m expecting them to be just as belligerent when I’m finally allowed to get rid of it.
Oh, and the $399 of free accessories? The mattress protector crinkles at night, and the sheets are made of cheap, gray polyester. It’s just crap they had lying around in a warehouse that they‘d never be able to sell on its own. They’re not even Nectar branded. The mattress still stinks like “not-chemicals” two weeks later. This company is probably some kind of petroleum subsidiary getting rid of excess byproducts. Go ahead and buy it if the scam I described makes you feel warm and fuzzy. I wouldn’t recommend this mattress to anyone unless I hated their guts.
I’ve yet to make the return but I’ve read that they will only refund the cost of the mattress minus the cost of the “free” accessories. Total scam, please avoid.
TLDR; spongy and cheap feeling, stuck with it for 30 days, even cheaper bundled “free” accessories that they will subtract from your refund.
I need to buy 8 mattress sets for our latest rental. Last ones were from Sam's Club; another was with Costco sets. Should I go that route again or do you have recommendations?
Can't decide who to give my business
So, my partner and I are moving in together next week and are looking to upgrade our bed situation full -> queen and have started the shopping process. While out trying mattresses out the best ones we found were the purple 3 and the nectar premier. The nectar premier was more within the budget we had in mind but after checking on here I've seen nothing but bad reviews and complaints. Now most seems to be about the company itself and the lack of customer service..so I'm moreso wondering about the quality and longevity of the mattress. It seems to be fine to me and we have a local store we can buy through and deal with for warranty and refunds instead of just doing it online. Is this a completely bad idea and should we keep looking or would dealing with a local store alleviate most issues people are complaining about. Thanks in advance
We are in desperate need of new mattresses for our adjustable bases. We have a split king and need twin XLs. We are considering Nectar and Purple, but weary to pull the trigger on either. I've seen nightmare stories about them both and good reviews as well. However, the better reviews are usually from newer customers. Is there anyone that has been an owner of either for multiple years and still happy?
Hey everyone!
My partner and I are thinking about getting a queen-sized nectar mattress (the regular memory foam one) after looking at a ton of options. We’ve both been researching a lot and even checked out a few nectar mattress Reddit threads, but it’s hard to know what’s legit.
We’re both around 5’6” and average weight, and we’re both side sleepers dealing with neck and back pain. I’ve even got some hip pain that makes sleeping uncomfortable, so finding the right mattress is a big deal for us. We want to keep our budget under $1,000, and the Nectar looks like it could be a great value. But after reading so many reviews and nectar mattress reddit discussions, everything is starting to blur together.
If you’ve tried a nectar or have any insights from other reddit posts, we’d love to hear your thoughts! Is it really worth it for side sleepers? Does it help with pain, and how does it hold up over time? Appreciate any honest experiences you can share.
Thanks so much!
Canadian here, moving out and in need of a new mattress. We wanted to try a "boxed" mattress and tried a Nectar mattress in store (premier I believe). This brand is newer to Canada. The reason why I didn't go with another like Endy, Douglas, etc, is simply because they weren't available in the store to lay on.
Then I come on Reddit and discover all these horrible reviews and claims that these mattresses have toxic chemicals - after I made an order. Mine has not been shipped yet because I've just ordered a couple of days ago. Do I cancel the order???? What the heck do I buy?!
I've been casually looking for a new mattress recently, so of course all my web ads have been mattress related. I feel every few days I come across a new ad from a new company that claims to have the "best" and "most comfortable" mattress.
There are 9 different companies in the question title. I'm rather doubtful that each of these companies had a stroke of ingenuity and created 9 new and unique products.
Are all these foam mattress companies the same? Is there really a difference? How would one go about choosing among these manufacturers (or maybe re-sellers is the better term).
How can a new mattress shopper separate the wheat from the chaff?
Thank you.
6'3", 235lbs. I'm mostly a side sleeper who turns on his back sometimes. I currently have a 12-inch Nectar mattress that I got in October. I also have a separate 3-inch topper that I bought for it, and my hips will start hurting after about an hour of lying on my side. Unfortunately, it's just too firm for me.
So back searching I went, and came across the Helix Midnight, but according to this review, the Helix is more firm than the Nectar.
Is there any other side sleepers out there that have experience with the Helix, Nectar or any other mattress that's supposed to be good for side sleepers that can point me in the right direction? I'd like to keep it under $2k if possible.

Given that you and your wife are both heavy, if you're looking for a budget hybrid medium-firm mattress with the best possible cooling features, between the three, that's a no-brainer, I'd say DreamCloud is your best bet.
The DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress is known for its great support and durability, especially for those over 250 lbs. As you already know, they use a combination of memory foam and individually wrapped coils, which is perfect for side sleepers like yourselves.
This combo helps in distributing weight evenly and provides that medium firmness you're looking for. Plus, the cooling technology in DreamCloud mattresses is a huge bonus for a good night's sleep.
It might be on the pricier side compared to Zinus and Nectar, but it's worth considering the long-term benefits. It's a good investment for quality sleep, and given your specifications, it aligns well with what you need. Let me know if you'd like to explore other options.
I had a dream cloud for almost a year. I absolutely loved it.
Like many of you, I've been sucked down the rabbit hole and I've reading here for days and days.
Wife and I (5'7" - 5'9" 150 lbs) in the process of buying a quality guest mattress as a trial, and if it feels good, replacing my master next year. Currently using a Nectar, which sagged enough to cause lumbar pain in 2 years.
I generally love that "6ish firmness" memory foam feel as a side sleeper, but it seems that regardless of what people buy, 2-3 years is the tipping point where people get sagging in the comfort layer and bail out. Considering a spindle for my next buy, but I'm beginning to wonder if anything gives a decent longevity of 5-7 years before back pain sets in.
So I have to ask, has anyone's mattress given them a solid 5 years without sagging enough to cause you pain? If so, what do you like and what's your setup? If not, what have you hated?
I bought a Nectar Luxe Mattress a week ago and I felt pretty happy with my choice other then the price. 1800$ for the whole frame Queen size mattress and bedding bundle isn’t exactly cheap for a college student. I was so proud of my choice and have been getting a good nights rest for the past couple days. That was until I stumbled upon this subreddit and found out every idea I’ve ever had has been wrong and borderline psychotic. I just want to know this, What is the best matress I could get for a college student that will last me for the next couple of years for a fair price. I have scrolled for a long time and can’t find a collective choice opinion in this group on what a good mattress is so I’m asking here. At this point I’m just ready to go to IKEA and spend 600$ on a queen bed and bed frame since I have no clue if I got ripped off.
Edit: What is THE Best Mattress in this groups opinion
I am looking for two mattresses for full beds for my son and daughter. He’s 16, and she’s 14, both are side and back sleepers, and around 140 pounds each.
My budget is limited, I'm hoping to keep it between $600 and $700 for each mattresses. I want something comfortable that can last a few years, especially since they’ll be using them daily.
Do you think this is a good plan? Would it make sense to wait until Black Friday for the deals, or should I just buy now?
