Worse, they restrict high quality streaming to certain browsers (4k on edge and 1080p on chrome, though there is a firefox extension that can bypass the restriction and achieve 1080p.)

Microsoft did this with the Weather and News apps too. It's such lazy development. A standalone program that runs a website. I made programs like that in Visual Studio when I was 9. What a shame because the Metro UWP apps were noticeably faster and snappier. When Edge went from UWP to the Chromium engine, it was noticeably slower on lower end PCs.
