Netflix-Warner Bros. Discovery: EU Antitrust Experts Say $83B Deal Unlikely To Be Blocked — But Conditions May Be Imposed On Merger
It was never getting blocked, and I don't care how much Wall Street cries about it. There have been mergers far larger and worse than this, and unfortunately, Netflix doesn't own as much as other studios, so their merging with Warner isn't as harmful as you'd think. The only problem is what they do with their theatrical exhibition, which has been collectively trending down, sadly. More on reddit.com

To better assess the viability of Netflix's WBD bid, here is a list of proposed mergers and acquisitions that have been blocked on Antitrust grounds since 2016
I dont see a Netflix/WBD merger happening. There is no way the #1 (by a lot) streamer should be allowed to buy the #3 streamer. Its crazy to think this is possible. In my opinion, this has always been about Netflix trying to get PSKY to pay a higher premium for WBD. I just think PSKY knows this and is unwilling to overpay at the moment. More on reddit.com

r/entertainment on Reddit: Netflix has a big unanswered question. That may kill its Warner Bros. deal
1 week ago - Netflix will have to answer a crucial question: Why does it want to buy Warner Bros and HBO? That answer could determine both companies’ fates. Netflix has its work cut out for it. It’s already begun laying out its case: The company has been talking up its world-class algorithm and deep understanding of what viewers want to watch. That’s on purpose: If antitrust enforcers believe the deal is about efficiency, regulators could let it skate through, because it could improve the consumer’s experience and encourage more competition.
