Is there a reliable way to auto farm nether stars/kill withers? You end up needing a lot and I want to know if it’s possible.

You can get soul sand from chickens and wither skulls from mystical agriculture. You can then feed them into a wither builder from industrial foregoing and kill the withers using the draconic evolution mob grinder. Alternatively, you could just make nether star crops - but those are super endgame.

Not mentioned yet but alternately you could build a Woot farm. You will still need to feed it Soul Sand and Wither Skulls.

I’ve gotten to the point where I need a lot of nether stars, and was wondering if there’s any better way to get them than just repeatedly spawning the wither in a cave and fighting it.

use an energy condenser in ProjectE as long as u have one it should be easy with chickens

Use "tinted glass" from "mob grinding utilities" to make a cage to fight the wither. Use the first nether star to make the "philosopher's stone". Proceed to make the "energy condenser" from "projectE". Duplicate the second nether star and never fight the wither again.
