Features
The drivers and network server may be run in a chroot jail for further security benefits. This is supported directly since version 1.4 and beyond with the chroot= configuration directive. IP-based access control relies on the local firewall and TCP Wrapper. SSL is available as a build option ("--with-ssl"). It encrypts sessions with upsd and can also be used to authenticate servers. tl;dr: I'm looking for a local (non-cloud), free solution that would allow a 1U UPS to trigger a shutdown of a nearby PC running proxmox, plus two nearby synology NASes, and a Windows PC in another room.
It's time for me to buy a good 1U UPS for my homelab. My lab uses around 300 Watts of power at its peak, according to a small CyberPower UPS I currently have everything connected to, although I expect power demands to grow over the years. The lab currently consists of:
-
1 PC running Proxmox, with maybe a half dozen LXC containers and VMs

Two old 8-bay Synology NASes
-
UDM Pro router
-
12-port Ubiquiti switch
-
A little Ubiquiti Fiber GPON box
What I really want to accomplish is to make the UPS trigger a safe shutdown on the NASes, the Proxmox box, and one or two PCs deployed in other rooms. I want to do this without having to pay any kind of subscription, and without relying on any remote cloud software.
Has anyone ever deployed anything like this? Which UPS manufacturer did you use? What sort of deployment would you recommend?

In the end I did get WinNUT to work, but I feel like the actual NUT-Client is the way to go. ... Looks like somthing is broken in the installer version 2.6.5-6. I testet Version 2.6.5-4, wich I got from their Archive https://github.com/networkupstools/nut-package-archive/tree/master/windows , with excatly the same configuration and it is working without a struggle what so ever.
