If you are concerned about buying the current model, one thing to add about AppleTV is that the support of previous models is outstanding. I have an AppleTV HD from 2015 and it is running the most current tvOS without issue.

The apple tvs specs are over kill for streaming. They are basically mini PCs. Don't expect the new one offer any visible performance improvements.
