Heat up the inside panel for a minute with a hair dryer until the outer side is hot to the touch. Then put it on and press down both front banels evenly with your hands for around 1-2 minutes. I also hate the high crown and have done this to most of my hats and it really works. I’m thinking about buying my first Low Profile 59fifty and I had a few questions. I mostly buy the 39thirty, but the hat I want isn’t available in that style and I’d hate to shell out $40-$50 for a hat and not like it.
I measured my head and I’m right on the button for a size. Does this style of hat run true to size, or should I expect it to run a bit big or small and order up or down accordingly?
The bill is curved, but not as much as the bill of a 39thirty. Is it possible to permanently curve it a bit more?
A bit of internet/YouTube research told me that the Low Profile 59fifty and the 39thirty were similar when it comes to crown height and width of hat. Is this accurate?
Thanks in advance for the help.
EDIT: I live in the middle of nowhere. It would probably be cheaper to just reorder a hat if the first one doesn’t fit than to drive several hours to a store that sells New Era hats to try one on.

Best advice would be to go try one on at any site that sells a 59fifty, sizing can be iffy on all of them depending on country of origin. For the most part sizing is pretty good. You can steam the brim and wrap it around a cup, I use a YETI 30oz to curve mine. When you go to try on the hat, you can compare it to a 59fifty, low profile will be more egg shaped IMO.
