I currently have a 21.5-inch, Late 2013 iMac, upgraded on an SSD running Open Core to get to Macos Sequoia. I have been really wanting a new machine for schoolwork. This computer does web browsing great, its pretty good when using Photoshop and Lightroom. But it becomes miserable when I try to edit 4k video, especially when it is shot at high framerates like 100fps+. I was looking into the M4 iMac, but I have heard rumors that the M5 refresh might be out soon. Should I wait?

Honestly, I'd probably just go with the M4. Even an M1 would be a huge upgrade over what you currently have so I don't see a ton of reason to wait for something that will otherwise be a relatively minor year over year upgrade.
