There was a lot of good horror movies that came out this year but which one did you like the best?

Mine is between Sinners or Frankenstein

I'm looking for some NEWER movies that have come out in the last 12-18 months that have perhaps slipped under the radar a little bit. I already have a few that I'm planning to watch, but would like some other suggestions if at all possible.

A few of these are slightly older but they made the list anyway.

Some of my FAVORITES from last year were Longlegs, Oddity Anything for Jackson, HH Carmichael Manor and When Evil Lurks. (Please do not suggest these).

And by good, I mean I should have a sense of satisfaction after the movie ends, that I’ve seen something worthwhile and haven’t wasted my time. I’ve been pissed off so much over the last few days watching crappy movies (which I thought would be good) and wasting my time.

Saw Weapons last night and absolutely loved it. Got me thinking that so far 2025 has been an incredible year for horror. Weapons, Bring Her Back, and Together are in my current top 10 movies of the year. Sinners, 28 Years Later, Final Destination Bloodlines, The Ugly Stepsister, Presence were also all amazing. Even the ones I haven’t loved as much - Companion, The Monkey, Heart Eyes, Dangerous Animals - have been solid. And there are more coming up that I think could be great.

After an amazing 2024 I thought it would be hard to surpass, but I think 2025 has just become my new favorite year for horror. Come to think of it 2020s in general have been an awesome decade throughout. It’s a great time to be a horror fan!

How does everyone else feel about horror movies this year so far? Any good ones I didn’t mention? What are you most excited coming up this year?
