I once purchased a refurbished Xbox from Gamestop, and got a 1TB instead of a 500GB and its still running 6 years later. In the same train, I purchased a refurbished laptop once and it junked out after 3 hours. My point being, its a gamble, and the price usually reflects that gamble. Hi!
I've been wanting to purchase a budget laptop for awhile now since I'll be enrolling into a program that requires Windows rather than Mac.
I saw that Newegg offers a refurbished laptop for under $300, but I'm hesitant to buy it as I'm seeing a lot of bad reviews about their products especially with scams and third party sellers.
The item I want to buy says it is sold and shipped by Newegg and I saw a lot of comments in other threads saying it is safe as long as the item says that.
So I wanted to know if it is worth purchasing the item from Newegg considering that it is refurbished and sold/shipped from Newegg.
I appreciate any guidance!

I’m thinking about purchasing a refurbished high-end gaming PC from Newegg, but I’m unsure if it’s the right move. The PC comes with a 1-year warranty and a 3-month warranty on parts. Since this would be my first PC, I wanted to get some advice from those who might have experience with this.
I’ve looked into building my own PC, but the costs are getting steep—even when I’m willing to compromise on quality or aesthetics. Buying a refurbished PC seems like a more affordable option for me right now.
Has anyone here bought a refurbished PC from Newegg? Is it reliable, especially for high-end models? Are there any potential issues or things I should be aware of before making the purchase?

I rarely used Newegg, but decided to try and order a refurbished pre-built from them (sold directly by them and not even from a 3rd party on their site) early on a Friday, but on the following Monday Newegg emailed me that it was supposedly out of stock. Was deflating; I felt like I got baited and they either never had it to begin with or their system is so stale it can't keep listings up to date. It's probably pretty telling that support dodged your concern about buying refurbished and wants you to buy new from them. In fairness, new is inherently the safer option regardless of where you're buying from. If current pricing still doesn't work for you, holiday deals are likely coming up and might help. But I'd say have a sense of what specs you want and what for so you can act on deals punctually.
