I like the concept of web components, and I'm curious if the support in Lit + Svelte 5? afaik, react is the only major framework that doesn't properly/fully support web components. but that's coming in react 19. personally i always recommend learning core js/ts first, then vue as a first framework. it supports both single file components and jsx while having a sane rendering model and a good amount of industry support. from there, svelte is easy to learn as it's sfc model is much the same, and svelte 5's runes now make it almost the same syntax as vue's composition api. if you go the jsx route, react shouldn't be too difficult to pick up as you now have the basic fundamentals of how a reactive frontend framework works. it still has its silly footguns but then you have the likes of solidjs that uses jsx but with signals, which can clean all that up. i know this is a react sub so i'll probably cop some disagreement by recommending vue, which is fine. all i ask is that you don't lock yourself into one framework and become a single framework dev, you're just doing yourself a disservice. try a bunch out, learn the pros/cons of each. sure pick a favorite, but have an understanding of each and different situations it may be best in. that said, at the end of the day, react has the larger ecosystem, better native tooling (react native vs. nativescript/capacitor) and more jobs. Hello, I've been studying JavaScript for several months and the time has come to choose a framework, so whenever I had time, I looked into and studied the concepts of React, Vue, Next.js, Angular, Svelte, and Web Component (Lit), and then tried using each of them. Personally, I did not like the direction of React and Next.js, but I found the experience of using JSX to be intuitive and liked it. However, I had a lot of resistance because of the direction towards SSR, RSC, the heavy bundle sizes, the experience being the opposite of web standards, and especially the feeling that Vercel dominates the framework. Also, personally, the enforced typing of TypeScript and the feeling of being against the flow for not using TypeScript despite the existence of JavaScript + JSDoc made me feel confused. In the midst of this, seeing that Svelte compiles to VanillaJS and having used it, I felt it was very smooth and good, so I have decided to continue studying Svelte up to now. Clearly, I think there will be a significant disadvantage in employment (Vue and React are very popular in my area), and there are only about a dozen jobs for Svelte compared to over 100,000 for React. Despite this, I would like to ask if it's okay for me to continue believing in and moving forward with Svelte. Also, I like the concept of web components, and I'm curious if the support in Lit + Svelte 5? is fully compatible. I would like to know what you think about the decision I've made personally. First, a good developer picks a library/framework based on needs. While being good at one particular framework might be valuable in specific situations, I find developers to be far more easy to work with if they are flexible. Also, if you're worried about finding a job, Svelte isn't it right now - React, Angular and Vue still lead the current job market. Maybe one day, Svelte will be the dominant stack. Whatever your opinions about React/NextJS, the reality is that people don't necessarily pick something because they are good - things get picked because they are good enough. It's far more important for a business that whatever framework they chose have good community support and popularity. This makes it easier to find devs to hire, and find resources online when they get stuck on some edge case issue. Keep using Svelte for your personal projects, but you might find more luck finding a job by at least familiarizing yourself things like React. Also, note about TypeScript - there is a very good reason why this is the preferred development tool for a lot of devs. Maintaining a large JS project without static typing (and no, JSDoc is not a replacement for runtime error checking that TypeScript provides) quickly gets out of hand. If I recall correctly, JSDoc does not throw any IDE errors - it simply tells the user what signature something has. In TS, if you pass a wrong variable type to a function, the developer is immediately notified via IDE errors, which helps prevent bugs even before the code runs. Additional comment: If you're wondering whether sticking with Svelte is a good path, think about things from the employer's perspective. If you were an employer working with Svelte, and you were hiring one of two candidates; one is familiar with Svelte, and the other is familiar with React. They both seem to fit the work culture very well. You're probably going to pick the guy who has Svelte experience. That's the same with the employers.

So far the main reason I like Angular over react is because Angular is a full framework with everything included that you need to build front end applications. But I'm trying to compare it to Next.js which I have not used before. Next is also a full framework and and seems like it might handle seo with less work than Angular since it does SSR out of the box.
Anyone have reasons why they like Next.js over Angular or the other way around?

I’m at an agency, work with lots of different tech depending on the client, and am the local Angular expert on staff. We build most of our new products in Next. It’s lightweight, flexible, easily deployable, the Vercel ecosystem is great and when you need to introduce a specific thing, there is a package available. Angular has the most divisive opinions of any FE tech imo. It’s feature richness is great, if you plan on using those features. If you don’t, then you’re left with a ton of unnecessary boilerplate that slows down development. We are firm believers in picking the technology for the problem, not sticking to a certain tech because we know it. My advice would be to learn new tech and stay flexible to what you’re using.
