So I bought an open box NH-U12A for 35 bucks but I'm not sure that the hardware included is compatible with AM5. Where could I get the necessary brackets and offsets for it without spending much?

You can get free brackets from Noctua .

AM4 brackets fit AM5... if you have them, use them.

All their AM4 mountings are compatible with AM5 sockets. Noctua is sending free AM5 socket mounting kits to current owners of their older CPU coolers. Can't install old u12a on am5??

Different sockets. You need the proper socket kit for am5.
