October 13, 2025 - Beginning in the 2020–21 season, the NHL began partnering with Adidas to introduce the Reverse Retro program, where all 31 teams developed special uniforms combining traditional or throwback designs with new colour schemes. The introduction of the Reverse Retro jerseys (which were planned to be worn in specific rivalry matchups, a plan hindered by the realignment of divisions due to Covid-19) marks the first time in history that all 31 teams have at least three jerseys.

Any definitive info on the history of different replica CCM/KOHO jersey models?
I love this topic. 550s are only CCM vintages I believe, unless I'm terribly wrong and hockeyjerseyoutlet is right was wrong, "semi pro 550" came out of the late 90s and was for late 2nd gens and beyond. Totally learn something new every day. But here is a pretty decent imgur post on it that I'd like to add a little more detail to it So the "first gen" are called maskas, all of these should have a screenprinted hem tag but only a white collar tag that says maska. 80s they say Maska airknit/ultrafil, 90s it's ccm by maska. But these maskas in my observation have been made out of four materials, which is airknit (a standard hockey jersey material), some are made out of two types of faux-ultrafil material that is smooth and kind of stretchy in which one is basically like a very thin silk (durene) while others are thick but still smooth and poor quality, here is my post comparing the two , and others are made out of a mesh material like this . As for logos, a lot of them have smaller crests in comparison to newer generations. They should always be glued or made out of a shitty screen print too so a lot of variations. These replicas were made from the late 80s up to 1995 I believe. So the second generation should have a blue rink tag, now some of these are made out of a faux-ultrafil maska material with a screenprinted tag, but this is where the CCM hem tag would be ironed on with a mini logo , I actually have one jersey with a sewn logo on it, but others are glued. These jerseys I believe were 1996-1998 Then there is third generation which should have a blue and black collar tag, now on both of my third gen jerseys, the hem tag is its own layer of cloth and is actually sewn on like this or some of these have ironed on CCM and puck tags. There should be a mini ironed-on CCM tag on the end of the sleeve too. I think these were 1998-2000 The fourth generation jerseys is where things get a little messy, so this is where some were made in Canada and others Indonesia, and according to the to the imgur post some lack quality. Along with a CCM ironed on tag on the sleeves, there's a one on the back of the collar The neck tag will look like this , and the hem tag in my observation of these jerseys is a sole hockey puck logo, but sometimes it's a CCM logo and a puck , sometimes there's nothing at all but the neck logo so it completely varies. These jerseys were I bet 2000-2005 when CCM lost the license EDIT: I didn't see Koho in the title, but these jerseys in my opinion are identical to 4th generations and were in the same time frame, obviously there is going to be it's own Koho tag, sleeve/back collar patch, Koho actually produced aways/dark jerseys while CCMs made homes/whites beginning in the 2000/01 season as you can see here Now CCM vintages all have collar tags that say Vintage Hockey on it. The hem tag is always going to be an ironed on CCM logo and nothing else, in my opinion these jerseys are remarkably similar to Koho/ 3rd gen/4th gen in terms of the way it was made and material. Although a lot of the crests were made out of a smooth/shiny polyester material as you would see on the right here of a CCM 550 , while others have a standard crest material. These jerseys were made I believe starting in the late 2000s all the way until recently when they lost their license again to adidas. So there is a load of variations. Again in terms of fit, maskas are the only ones that are noticably different as the jerseys are all one layer, making it feel like a loose shirt and they run a size smaller than what they say it is. Here is a comparison between a 1st gen vs a CCM vintage for what I am talking about. But again, 3rd gen all the way to CCM vintage are remarkably similar for how these jerseys feel and the way they were made for the material and size. Two last things, if you give a rat's ass about the jerseys (some are not there but whatever) I go off of, here is my collection with ccm generations specified, and if you have more info on the topic definitely tell me or correct me Thank you to u/LAK84 and u/nbcfrr for information More on reddit.com
July 19, 2025 - The NHL came out with new jerseys ahead of the 2007-08 season. The Oilers were one of the teams that suffered the most. The vertical piping down the front is off-putting. Cutting off the arm bands under the numbers is bizarre. No stripes at the bottom make them look plain. These were awful and fittingly worn during the worst era in franchise history.

As some of you may recall, I posted about my database roughly 9 months ago, outlining it as a free to use resource to find jersey styles, customization information, and patches worn by various teams. At the time, it covered the entire Adidas era (2017-2024). Since then, I've undergone the process of expanding it to include the Fanatics era, and will slowly work back and add the Reebok Edge era.

Introduced in its recognizable form more than a century ago, the jersey has barely changed, proving that great design never goes out of style. Its bold royal red, clean horizontal striping, and simple “C-H” crest reflect an elegant design philosophy unmatched in sports. But its significance goes far beyond aesthetics. The Canadiens are the most successful franchise in NHL history, with 24 Stanley Cup wins.
January 19, 2023 - Growing up in the eighties, and dating back to the seventies, the Bruins always seemed to dress very tough but talented hockey teams. With Espositio, Orr, Park, Cheevers and later Bourque, Neely and Middleton, the Bruins were often the team to beat in the old Adams division. Their traditional away jersey comes in as our number two pick in our list of the top 50 NHL jerseys of all-time.
February 15, 2020 - Well, it so happened that the NHL auction site had just listed the Bruins’ banner night jerseys, which I think had pictures of just one jersey used for all of them.
November 3, 2025 - The NHA first adopted this practice in 1911 with a rule stating “players had to wear identifying numbers on armbands placed on their left arm.” When these were deemed unsatisfactory, large numbers were placed on the front of the sweater, and a board with the player and number placed at one end of the rink. Eventually, numbers would be moved to the back of the jersey, and the board replaced by individual programs. In 1954, the NHL requested that player’s numbers be painted in white on the boot of their skates.
As a historic tribute to team's hometown, the numbers are accentuated with a perforated pattern based on Pierre L'Enfant's original grid plan for the city of Washington D.C. A strong white shoulder yoke serves as a nod to the classic stars & stripes from the clubs' past uniforms and the thick red stripes and hem stripes evoke thoughts of the city flag of Washington D.C. ... The Washington Capitals wore their third jersey, modeled after the team's original red jersey for 12 home dates during the 2018-19 season.

December 2, 2017 - The colors, the stripes, the socks, the jagged leaf, and the way they all come together…down to every last detail, this is the greatest uniform any NHL team has ever worn. ... Like Loading... My only quibble here is that the present day Leafs unis are their best ever. Two unusual elements to the classic Sabres unis … the sleeve and hem stripe patterns on the jerseys don’t match (to their credit) and their logo is (afaik) unique in all sports in that it has both the city and nickname in graphic form.
May 9, 2020 - The brands the league has used in their history include: CCM, KOHO, Nike, Starter, Pro Player, Reebok, and Adidas. From 2001-2006, all teams sweaters were made by The Hockey Company or CCM in an NHL wide deal.
