So I just found this jacket randomly walking down a nike outlet with a pretty hefty discount], and it stacks with my military discount so I thought it looks pretty techy and for the price, why the fuck not?
And yes, the name of the jacket is a mouthful.
Disclaimer : I'm new to techwear, so I don't really have high end gear to compare it with. And also I am not affiliated nor sponsored or paid whatsover by Nike.
FRONT: Fairly techy looking, has two "Hidden" pockets (one on each side) and one pocket with a waterproof zipper (they're YKK if anyone is wondering). Both the hidden pockets and the waterproof zipper pocket are pretty deep, The waterproof zipper pocket is actually a separate pocket from the "hidden" pocket. Also the main zipper has that cool double zipper so you can open it in two ways. The two strips on the side doesn't really do anything from what I've noticed, not reflective either.
INSIDE: Nothing really special, no extra pockets. Super comfy and flexible though due to it being made with Nike's tech fleece material.
WATER RESISTANCE: It's not really the best but it does has some water repelent properties (hence having repel in it's name). 5 secs under the sink. Here's the aftermath, as you can see it's not really super water resistant, but then it's expected after holding a DWR(?) treated fleece jacket under a sink full blast. Water didn't really go through it, but it would probably soak in if I held it there for another 10-15secs). It would more than likely hold up on mild to moderate amounts of rain but that's probably it.
FIT: I'm 5'6 160lbs that gets exercise atleast 3x per week. It fit's TTS to me since I normally wear size Small on most jackets (and XS on a few brands). Fit's a bit more relaxed but still slim (if that makes any sense), and leaves enough room for a mid layer, though you can wear it w/o one. The Sleeves are a bit long though IMO.
OVERALL: It's a pretty decent jacket, build quality is great, super freakin' comfy and flexible (which is probably the biggest plus for me), and it does break wind pretty well. While not entirely water resistant, it will do it's job for areas that normally don't get much rain. There is a small nike logo on the left side of the chest but it's not really screaming NIKE on it so it gets a pass for me. Only other negative thing I would say is I wish you could tighten the "cuffs" on the sleeves, it does have some elastic on it but it really wouldn't help if you're not wearing a mid layer or if your short like me.
So yeah, for around the price I got it (or maybe a little bit more), I would say YES COP IT. but if it's normal retail price @ $225 USD, i'd say wait a bit more till it goes lower.
Lastly, here's a quick shitty budget fit. excuse the non-techwear vans and messy room . And yes, I'm wearing navy with black, I like how it looks together, and also the jacket has black accents. I would've gotten the all black color if they had it though but this was the only one they had.
