I almost was about to start with Canon R6 mark II and building lens set around it. But recently noticed price drop from Nikon.. now difference between R6 II and Z7 II is about 100usd.. ( 2499 vs 2599)
Now confused due to price tag - how Z7 II is good ?.. because it more compared usually to R5.. I was mostly comparing R6ii to z6ii .. and R6 II won for me but due to recent discounts looks z7ii can be an option too.
How Z7 II is with af tracking now after all firmware upgrades in comparison to R6 II?
My worry area is action shoots (runners, kids, birds, dogs) . I guess here R6 II is a winner over z6 ii.. but how Z7 II is going here? Same as z6 ii or a bit better? Rest my scenarios is low light landscapes, street.. portraits.. Almost not going use for video.. i use Panasonic g9 for that. Maybe I should consider R8.. but missing ibis.. that concerns me due to low light and landscapes .. (Not a professional usage)

Staring from almost clean state with new system.. I am a former DSLR Nikon crop shooter. .(I had afs dx, af-d lenses, and third party sigma/Tamron/tokina) But almost all my lenses will not be working well on ftz adapter. That's why am disappointed in Nikon.. and for me will be a clean start...

I think r6ii is gonna handily beat the z7ii for any action shots. Until Nikon announces their next gen, at least. Nikon has some cheaper lens options though.

Your problem with third-party lenses is not a Nikon problem. It's a Sigma, Tamron, Tokina problem. Blame them. Nikon lenses work with the FTZ.

If that many megapixels matter to you, only you will know. I genuinely cannot stress this enough - hold them in your hand. The ergonomics will greatly influence how often you go and shoot Also compare the menu systems for a similar reason. one reason to favor Nikon, other than their genuinely excellent ergonomics (for my hands), they have 3rd party support from Sigma, Tamron etc. Canon does not More on reddit.com
