r/newjersey on Reddit: Registering a car in nj
September 11, 2024 -

I have an appointment to register my car tomorrow but I’ve been seeing people say they paid $900 to register or $500 etc. Is it that much to register a car in Jersey for everybody? Has anyone paid less?

A little background: I purchased the car off facebook marketplace, it’s a 2016 Chevy Cruze, I have the title and the reassignment paperwork. I’m not from out of state.. live in nj, bought the car in nj. Has anyone done something similar? What was the process and the cost?
