Looking for entry level remote IT positions to start out
With no qualifications it’s going to be tough to land something remote starting off. You have to think of the massive pool of candidates you’re going up against. I believe Apple does hire technical support representatives to work remotely but it’s been a couple of years since I’ve looked into that. More on reddit.com

How can I find entry-level remote jobs with no experience in 2025?
Yeah, the struggle is real — most “entry level” remote job posts out there sneak in 2–3 years of experience and a laundry list of requirements. It’s super frustrating when you just want something legit to get your foot in the door. While you keep applying to those, you might also want to try platforms where you can start earning right away by doing small online tasks — things like testing apps/games , answering surveys, or light data-entry style offers. It’s basically bite-sized remote work, and you can cash out the same day through PayPal, crypto, or gift cards. It’s not a long-term career move, but it is a great way to build confidence, get used to the flow of online work , and have some side income while you hunt for a proper entry-level role. I started there when I was in your shoes, and it made the grind feel way less discouraging. More on reddit.com

Does anyone have any relatively current information on any jobs that are pretty much available right now that are for REMOTE entry level IT positions (like train on the job for example) that I could apply and have decent chance of getting? I want something immediately, I'll take something doing $10 an hour starting out if i have to. surely there are positions like this abundant?? In addition, i would prefer to actually work either evenings and/or nights if possible. Let me know if anyone has any resources for me to track down or can point me in the right direction please and thanks!

I have had a job in IT for 3 years at this point, and I was a member of this sub well before I got that first job. I see the posts every day, and I hope new users see this post.

Yes, it is possible to get an entry-level IT job with little to no experience.

Yes, despite what some people say, CompTIA is still seen as a good first step, especially if you have no experience. It shows initiative and willingness to learn.

No, you don't have to be young or "college-aged" to look appealing to employers. I was 27 when I got my first IT job. (Still young, but for some reason, people on this sub think anything older than 25 and trying to get your first job in IT is old?)

I got my first entry-level IT job with NO experience other than building a PC once for myself and having the A+ cert. I now work at a billion-dollar company and make 60k a year as a tier 1 help desk tech in Ohio. I am going to WGU to get my BSIT next year.

Yes, you are going to put out a lot of applications, yes you are going to get rejected, but make sure you understand that you need to temper your expectations if you have zero experience. You may be looking at $14-18 an hour for a first job, but it gets your foot in the door.

Do things at home to pad your resume outside of your cert, I.E: make a home-lab, build cheap PCs, tinker with your networking skills, and just learn as much as you possibly can.

Keep working, keep applying, keep learning.

r/RemoteJobs on Reddit: How can I find entry-level remote jobs with no experience in 2025?
July 7, 2025 -

Hey everyone,

I’m based in the US and really want to find a part-time, work-from-home job that doesn’t require any prior experience or a degree. Every listing I’ve seen on LinkedIn and Indeed seems to ask for 2+ years of experience or some specific credential I don’t have, and it's frustrating.

I’m tired of stumbling on scam sites. Can anyone give me a legit platform for finding and applying to remote jobs?

I’m open to anything flexible: customer support, data entry, content moderation, virtual assistant work, or even simple typing jobs.

Also, has anyone landed a beginner-friendly remote role recently? Any companies or specific tips would be hugely appreciated too.

Thanks in advance :)

r/RemoteJobs on Reddit: Best Legitimate Part-Time Remote Jobs With No Experience (Work From Home Only)?
April 28, 2025 -

Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking for legitimate part-time remote jobs that don't require any prior experience. I want to work only from home, not interested in anything that requires on-site visits or travel.

I'm open to anything flexible: customer support, data entry, content moderation, virtual assistant work, or even simple writing tasks. Just looking for something real and not scammy.

If you've had a good experience with any beginner-friendly remote job (or know someone who has), I would appreciate any suggestions or advice!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Edit: Thought I’d edit the post in case it helps someone. Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s working for me:

EliteSurveySites: I’ve experimented with a lot of side income ideas, and a few things finally started to click. One big breakthrough was using this site, they helped me find legit, better-paying survey platforms. In the beginning, I was barely earning anything, a few cents per survey, if that. But after sticking with it for a few weeks and being consistent, I now average over $1500/month from the recommended panels.

Fiverr: On the side, I’ve also been picking up small writing tasks, mostly short-form content like social media captions for LinkedIn and Instagram. That brings in an extra $200–$300 each month.

Beta Testing: Another thing that worked for me: giving honest feedback to startups. If you search Reddit or niche forums for phrases like “need testers”, you’ll find plenty of early-stage products looking for feedback. They usually pay around $10–$15 per session, and it’s pretty straightforward work.

Just sharing what’s worked for me so far, I’ll be sure to update the list if I find something else that works too.
