I had the same problem on a Lenovo ThinkPad P52.

In the BIOS, Secure Boot was enabled, but Windows 11 showed "Secure Boot State" as "Off".

The cause was, that the Secure Boot Mode in my BIOS was set to "Setup Mode".

To change it to "User Mode", I had to select "Restore Factory Keys" on the Security Page in the BIOS.

After that, I could start the computer and Windows 11 displayed that the Secure Boot State is "On".

Maybe this helps someone.

July 4, 2024 -

I can’t enable Secure Boot on my pc, I’m Windows 11 and MSI click 5 (X299 Tomahawk Ac Motherboard) and in videos I found it seems to be in Windows Os Configuration, but I don’t see it there, it shows up when I search it but it says I need to do something with Pk keys, an option I also don’t see anywhere and it doesn’t come up when I search for it, every video I ever found talking about secure boot has options I don’t have, also in case it’s important, I get to my bios setting from windows troubleshooting settings, pressing Del/F11 does nothing on startup

I have a B450 Tomahawk. Made sure my drive that boots up my Windows (SSD in my case ) had a partition style: GPT and not MBR. Then, in BIOS, I had to set it from Legacy/UEFI to UEFI, saved then restarted. Went back into BIOS and I found the CSM to UEFI switch in the Advanced Tab / Windows OS configuration / BIOS CSM/UEFI and changed it, and for me, I already saw the Secure Boot option ON but chose to disable it like you mentioned for the reboot. After it restarted like normal, I ONCE more went back into BIOS and enabled Secure Boot. Probably rebooted more than I needed to but it worked! Such a headache.

On systems that old, the option for Secure Boot is hidden and the motherboard needs CSM disabled in order for it to appear ... First, you need to make sure your Windows drive is in GPT instead of MBR because it won't boot after disabling CSM unless it's converted to GPT. There's plenty of tutorials on YouTube on how to convert your Windows drive without losing data ... After the conversion, boot into the BIOS and look for a setting called "Windows 8/10 WHQL Support" and enable it. This option is actually a toggle switch between CSM and UEFI Mode, and once it's enabled, the motherboard will disable CSM, enable UEFI Mode. So enable it first, save and exit, and confirm that Windows 10 boots afterwards. It should because of the drive conversion. From here, return to the BIOS and the Secure Boot section should now be revealed. Chose to enroll the platform keys and let it reboot .... then cross your fingers. There's a 50/50 chance that enrolling the platform keys will corrupt your BIOS and brick your motherboard ... You also need a GPU manufactured around 2019 to ensure it has a UEFI compliant VBIOS ...

Question - No "Secure Boot Mode" option in BIOS - can't enable secure boot?? | Tom's Hardware Forum
July 19, 2024 - I tried it with both and when booting windows it still says secure boot is off and valorant (a game which requires secure boot to me on) also won't start no matter what I do. In all tutorials, there is an extra option on the screen I showed that says "Secure Boot Mode" but that option is straight up missing for me. Here is a screenshot of what it should look like: https://ibb.co/rQb0Xq7 and here is my BIOS, which is missing that option: https://ibb.co/7kJSMnt

Answer (1 of 5): BIOS? Or do you mean UEFI? BIOS is very old, and it does not have the concept of “Secure Boot”. UEFI does. (UEFI is basically newer version of BIOS)

September 4, 2023 - For example, on ASUS and Gigabyte motherboards and laptops, Lenovo PCs, and most other motherboards and laptops, you can locate the Secure Boot toggle in the “Security” tab of the BIOS setup menu. On Acer laptops, the toggle is either located in the “Security” or “Boot” menus. On most Dell devices, the option is found in the “Boot” or “Boot Sequence” tabs.
