Your phone has more than likely had a failed audio IC repair. The audio IC has had too much heat applied to it causing the Baseband CPU’s solder balls to expand resulting in the problem you are having. · This has nothing to do with the Antenna. If you type *#06# into your keypad does the IMEI display? If it doesn’t it will confirm it. There is no simple fix for this problem unless you are an experienced microsolderer. iPhone 7 no service following iOS 14 update
the iPhone 7 has some issues that can become apparent on an update. If, for example, it can't fully communicate with the cellular chip, it could fail a firmware update for it, causing a loss of service. It sounds like this is what happened. You could try to erase all content and settings, put the device in DFU mode and try again, hoping it goes through. But it's more likely that it's just bricked. iPhone 7plus No service issue
The iPhone 7 series was particularly susceptible to a board fault with this symptom. It involved the cellular modem (aka baseband) and could sometimes be fixed with a board repair. (There was a repair program for this, but it has long since finished) More on reddit.com

June 20, 2022 - Well not 100% motherboard issue but yeah it is probably around 90% that its motherboard issue because like brandonas said ,iPhone 7/7Plus have lots of motherboard problems ... It's 100 percent the issue. They had a literal recall on these phones for this issue. I've seen this same issue thousands of times. Also. If the antenna were the issue, you would just get weak signal, not off and on service.

Check the antenna bars. They might be obstructed. · If that doesn’t work, try ejecting, cleaning, and re-inserting the SIM card. · I personally don’t have 7 plus, so this is some minor textbook stuff that not everyone knows.

September 22, 2020 -
My phone hasn’t gotten any service for 2 full days following updating my iPhone 7 to iOS 14. I talked to customer chat and did all of the troubleshooting (network settings reset, airplane mode toggle, SIM card in and out). Sometimes the service comes back, but only for a few minutes before going back out. They’ve prioritized my problem but have had no luck yet. Any ideas?

iPhone 7s are a pieces of shit and always have network issues. Basically the modem can become lifted off the logic board and fuck everything up. Some times resetting network settings does something, other times you’re fucked. Also try doing a ispw restore of your iPhone that might help too.

I have an iphone 5 and about a week ago, it lost cellular connection and kept "searching". I did not drop the phone or anything that would cause it to stop working. I tried all of the potential fixes that apple recommends short of a factory reset. I even took it to a Verizon store and they tried a different sim card and many of the things I already tried with no luck. They pretty much told me to up-grade to solve the issue. I decided to make sure it was backed up and take the phone apart. About a year ago, I bought a battery replacement kit online, so I had the suction cup and all of the tools to take the phone apart. While the screen was removed, I unhooked the battery and the cellular antenna and then plugged them back in a few minutes later and reassembled. When I turned the phone back on, I now have cellular connection. I don't know if it would work on your phone, but it might be worth a try. It saved me from a factory reset and/or replacing the phone. Good luck!
