NOSTARCH BOOKS but from where?
I buy NoStarch Press books from Humble Bundle where they have frequent bundles. The PDFs are all printable and not restricted. More on reddit.com

No Starch Press sells its books in PDF, EPUB, & MOBI formats. Does anyone know of more publishers that do this?
I used to be able to download epub versions of Kobo books on their website, albeit with DRM. Is this not the case anymore? More on reddit.com

Learn you some code - No Starch Press book bundle
Looks like well picked collection covering multiple languages and topics. I think anybody find someting in it. Some my opinions and notes: It contains two their flasghip rust books. Rust is popular now, I recommend learning it. It seems to be usefull skill in next years. Contains some restful and interesting books like Strange Code, The Missing Readme and Learn Physics with Functional Programming Book about C# Type System is one of the newest book in the bundle and looks interesting but I did not find any reviews yet. Books about Ruby (2 books) and Perl (1 book) are quite old and ratings are mostly neutral, but I gues that they are still up to date becase these languages do not evolve significantly. It seems that bundle target intermediate and advanced programmers. Very few books for beginers, but still there are for example, Missing Readme directly targeting beginers. All books seems to be latest editions. Best rated books on (excluding books with very few ratings) are both books about rust, then secret life of programs, then missing readme. Learning physics with functional programming has low number of ratings (11), but they are all 5 star except one which is 4 star. Books with lot of negative ratings are: Bare metal C and GNU Make Publish year histogram from now to history: 2023: 4 books 2022: 4 books 2021: 3 books 2020: 0 2019: 2 books 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2008: each 1 book Some older books (GNU Make, Ruby Under a Microscope) are hard to buy now (at least on amazon.de), but they may still be interesting for readers (for example, GNU Make book is most probably up to date becase GNU make software is quite a stable). My verdict: I bought it. List of books and ISBNs (searched manually, errors possible, print and ebook considered the same (did not check it)): 978-1718503045 Python Playground, 2nd Edition 978-1718501669 Learn Physics with Functional Programming 978-1718503106 The Rust Programming Language, 2nd Edition 978-1718501584 The C# Type System 978-1718500921 Dead Simple Python 978-1718501621 Bare Metal C 978-1718502185 The Art of Clean Code 978-1718502406 Strange Code 978-1718501850 Rust for Rustaceans 978-1718501836 The Missing README 978-1718501447 The Art of Webassembly 978-1593279707 The Secret Life of Programs 978-1593279721 Autotools, 2nd Edition 978-1593276027 Wicked Cool Shell Scripts, 2nd Edition 978-1593276492 The GNU Make Book 978-1593275204 Perl One-Liners 978-1593275273 Ruby Under a Microscope 978-1593271824 Wicked Cool Ruby Scripts More on reddit.com

Machine Learning Bookshelf by No Starch Press (pay what you want and help charity)
Top tier is somewhat pricier than usual, but there are also 6 newly offered books in this bundle, which is pretty nice: Deep Learning: A Visual Approach (only top tier book and recently published, the rest are available in the somewhat cheaper next-level) Dive into Algorithms Practical Deep Learning Algorithmic Thinking How Computers Really Work Learn Python Visually This appeared in a previous No Starch bundle (ISTR maybe the most recent Python one?), but I'm mentioning the repeat since it was misfiled as an O'Reilly book during my HB library search: Natural Language Processing with Python and spaCy More on reddit.com

Hey fellows,

I am a cyber sec student who wants to read books, but only publishers are of no starch press. I have heard that these books are very awesome, but the problem is they are tooo expensive, I have a bookstore near me who sells their books (but I know he downloads pirated copies and prints them), else their books are very expensive for me. How can I read the books, could anyone guide me? I tried to search used books but still they are expensive (30$ with delivery to my country) how can i get that knowledge? Please help. And also I would prefer hard-copies because I cannot read continoulsy in PDFs. If I could get the permission to print the given PDFs for only personal use that would be great.

I mean is there a person or organization, who buys books and give them to students for free/minimal charges? Without piracy?

r/books on Reddit: No Starch Press sells its books in PDF, EPUB, & MOBI formats. Does anyone know of more publishers that do this?
January 7, 2019 -

As a Linux user, it is important to me to be able to acquire e-books in the form of actual files, such as EPUB or MOBI. None of the big book vendors like Amazon or Kobo have PC apps for Linux and they don't make their books available in readable formats for Linux e-readers like Bookworm and Calibre.

This has been a source of much consternation to me, and since I want more options beyond the Kindle web app (which is my only convenient way to read e-books sold by a big vendor) I am looking for other possibilities...

One author let me know that he sells EPUB versions of his books directly, although he unfortunately got little traction with it. And I found that the publisher No Starch Press does the same, as well as offering PDF and MOBI formats.

Do you guys know of any more authors or publishers who do this? It would be a great service to not just Linux users, but anyone who wants to truly own a copy of their e-books while still obtaining them legally and in support of the authors and publishers.
