Apparently I plan on buying a north face jacket and my choice is between these two. If there is any difference in the fit at all what is it? I’m looking for more relaxed fit but not hanging too much around my body. Also...I will buy it from Depop, so can you give me some tips on assuring of the authenticity of the jacket:)

1996 nuptse is the jacket and 700 is the amount of goose feather fill. I would only buy from an authorized retailer and not from a second hand site

I personally wouldn’t buy one second hand (unless YOU could easily identify if authentic or not or buying from a source that has some type of authenticity guarantee). Nuptse jackets have been manufactured since the 90s are there are multiple variations of tags and specific things to look for when trying to authenticating from each era. I’d just try to look for a size tag / care tag / YKK zippers for starters, but even then some fakes are made so well, those too will use YKK zippers. They are absolutely astounding jackets, as both technical pieces, and as statement jackets. I wear almost everyday in the fall/winter once the temps drop. For the weight to warmth ratio, not much comes close.

2 weeks ago, I have purchased the 700 1996 Retro Nuptse from a Girl on Vinted for 150€. The Girl said it’s the 2021 Modell, since she bought the Jacket beginning last year.
I Wonder, what are the difference from the newest 700 1996 Retro Nuptse which is currently selling on the official Website?
Does anyone have the Modell and can upload a picture of it (front and backside) to see how the newest version looks like and if i would upgrade. Note: please only the normal size and not the cropped one.
