Live on the N.Scottsdale/Phoenix border (right next to kierland) and am really bummed about the food options. Everything is either fine dining or a chain (but most likely both). It seems to only get worse the further north you get. For such a high income area why is the food so mid? People love to say because you live in the ~rich~ area, but I lived in the ~rich~ area of my last city and it at least had decent food. I know we won’t get good ~exotic~ food like Ethiopian or Peruvian, but we don’t even get a decent Mexican restaurant up here, the Mexican food on the east coast was somehow better for Christ sake!
Sure we have some great fine dining restaurants, but those are booked up so far in advance that a local is shit out of luck if they decide they would rather eat out on a Saturday night. And forget anything fast casual, I have had better luck at chipotle and that place is abysmal.
I just want good food that doesn’t have to be a big deal. Where do y’all take out if you are too lazy to cook on a Monday? Where do y’all eat if you feel like “going out on a Saturday? Where’s the good food at!?
Edit: Did not expect to get so many comments, have a lotttt of places I’m excited to try out, thanks everyone!
