I'm currently trying to decide between the Note 10 plus or the Note 20 base model as I've found really good deals on both of them opened - never used. The Note 20 (snapdragon) I can pick up for 237.32USD or the Note 10 plus (Exynos) I can get for 222.37USD. Thoughts on which is the better choice?

My mother is a strict Note user and her Note 8 is having some issues so I want to surprise her with a new one. They are both on sale now and the 10+ is €100 cheaper. Is it worth it to go for the €100 more expensive base Note 20? I couldn't find a comparison between the 2 anywhere, only the 10+ vs the 20 Ultra. Both are Exynos versions as we live in the EU.

Update: After a couple of weeks of trying to buy the Note Ultra from the Samsung store (out of stock) , decided to buy a certified refurbished Note 10 plus which came with 1 year warrenty to hold me over till the next note comes out.

The note is super zippy. Very satisfied so far.

Love the NFC copy card feature in Samsung pay, I can leave my work card at home. Unlocking doors with a phone is cool. Also installed an app that gives me immersive mode. The power of android. Thanks again everyone for your responses learned a lot.

So I did a post like this in the Note 9 subreddit (you can see how that went lol) with just the Note 9 vs Note 10 Plus and I got some feedback so I wanted to do it again with 2 new competers, note 8 & Note 20 ultra (you will have 2 days to vote)

I am going to buy my first note device and since I have no prior note experience I am on the fence to either buy a Note 10 plus or Note 20 Ultra. The price difference is around USD. 400 between these two and both are exynos versions. Since I am not upgrading from a recent phone (I am using galaxy J7 2015 at the moment) and will not be changing the phone at least for another three years which will be most suitable in the long run. Any advise/suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I've been a Note user since the Note 4 and I've been in love with the Note line ever since. Its unique over any other phone and its hard to switch to another phone brand and it still is today. I've been upgrading model after model, no matter what because there was added features that I will use and features that are still there today, but something has changed for the new lineup. From what I saw yesterday, it hasn't totally convinced me to switch.

I got my reservation like last year, in which I'm eligible for the $200 credit. I'm fully able to afford it because of the trade in value of this phone, so pricing is not an issue, but when looking at the specs and new features, I'm asking myself "is the Ultra worth switching"?

The screen: Don't get me wrong. They have produced the best screens in the world and I'm sure the Note 20 Ultra is going to be the best in class again, especially with the 120Hz refresh rate as the cherry on the top, but this phone's screen is still great! I have no issues to how the 10+ screen operates and I can live without the 120Hz screen for another year. Maybe they will allow the 120Hz in 1440p next year or maybe enable it in software later on.

The cameras: When they released the new camera setup for the S20 Ultra series. It was obviously a disappointment. I was concerned the flaws will be on the Note 20 Ultra. Unfortunately, the majority of the camera setup stayed the same. The only 2 new features is the 30x zoom, and laser auto focus, but I don't think they are enough for me to switch. I keep asking myself, when will I ever use the 30x zoom? The specs on the sensor itself is lower quality than on the main sensor, in which I can crop with more detail. Laser Autofocus is great, but the focusing mechanism on the 10+ is just as good. Do you really think anyone will do 8k recording all the time? 4k has become standard and 8k hasn't been touching the waters yet, its just going to be a waste of space. I record interviews with the 10+ and people get blown away with the quality, so this camera setup is still really good. The tof sensor and the dual aperture will be missed if I switch, so I don't see any benefit to it.

The S-Pen: This is one of the main reasons I switched. The S-Pen changed how I'm productive with everyday life and I was expecting something big. The only "new" thing that was mentioned was responsiveness. It really isn't a new S-pen feature, but more of a feature on the screen refresh rate. Its common sense that a higher refresh rate is going to be more responsive, but I'm curious if we will see a major difference on writing words on the S-Pen. Maybe some will notice it, but probably the majority won't. The S-Pen works just as fine on the 10+.

Software: The software probably is going to be faster with more improvements, but nothing that blew me away. If you think about it. Every single year with new versions, about a month or two later, they add the new features to older devices, probably just to get sales thinking it's exclusive, in which it isn't. I bet that Wireless Dex will come with the 10+ in a few months and other Samsung exclusive apps will jump forward as well.

Storage: When you bought the Note 10+ I'm assuming the majority bought the 256 GB one. Well, I'm disappointed the 20 Ultra has the lowest storage of 128 GB!! For that price tag, it's absolutely NOT worth it. The storage I have is just fine with the Note 10+

Conclusion: Be honest, do you think the improved features is worth the price? The only real new feature here is the screen refresh rate. That's really it. Do you want to spend $1400 (or $800 after trade in) for just a screen upgrade and a storage downgrade? I'll make you decide on that. For me, it's just not worth upgrading. Now with the extra year of updates, it's now worth keeping this phone a while longer.

I love Samsung and I always will be, but something is not right with them lately. Its like they are removing festures that were truly innovative, but remove them. I mean, if 25 people use it, GREAT!! Don't take it away for all of us. Thats what the Note was made to do. Give us a bunch of features and let us choose how we use it. Now its slowly becoming the everyday phone with a pen. I hope thats not what their goal is. They really need to wake up and show what they are really capable of doing. Don't do it to impress another fan base that will never switch. Do it for the fan base you currently have and we will show the other fan base what they are missing, otherwise you will lose them and you have no one to sell it to.

Samsung, don't let the power of a fruit take over for who you are, be you!

Now that it's been confirmed that Samsung is not making a Note 21, I'm debating if the Note 20 Ultra cameras are a huge step up from the Note 10 Plus?

I'm looking at a note, as I mainly use my phone as a tablet essentially. There's a few deals on the note 10 plus at the moment and I'm wondering if there is much of a difference between the 10 plus or the standard 20?

Both of Snapdragon variant at the same price point.S20 plus excels in every sector accept the design.but it has the green line issue.then the note 10 plus has a 60 hz screen but there isnt any greenline effect.and the phone looks good and guess feels kind of premium then S20 Plus.btw I have never used anywise which has more than 60 Hert.Will it be worth the to buy a 20 Plus or should I go for the safer note 10 plus and I dont care about 1 year of software updates.

Hi guys, been using my note 10+ for the past 2 years. Am looking to upgrade my phone but the price of the S22 Ultra is way too expensive for the upgrade in my opinion as im not a user who is into the resolutions and refresh rate etc of the phone. Which phone would you guys upgrade to if u were in my opinion? Cheers everyone!

or samsung note 10 plus

I keep hearing from some people that after all the updates the 20 plus one still overheats and battery performance is not so great and from other people that its fixed now, and i don't know what to believe, i know that the note 10 plus doesn't have those problems

but i just can't decide, the price is the same :))

Like the title says. I can get both refurbished for around the same price. Which one to get?

I have the Note 10+ and have been thinking about trading it in and grabbing the 20 Ultra. Anyone have any regrets with their Note 20 Ultra? Going from 256gb to 128gb space seems like a bit of a bummer but I'm not sure if I'll even use the extra. Other than that, everything else seems positive.

So what do you think, anyone else make the switch?
