The screen of a Samsung Note 20 is 2,400x1,080 pixels. This puts it above common "tablet" or even "desktop" media query breakpoints, however it is often being held vertically. How does one design for high pixel count phones with this in mind?
S24 ultra screen compared to note 20 ultra . Wtf?
Update is coming... This issue has been discussed since launch as we are all underwhelmed.
But Samsung heard us and it's coming!!

I'm looking to pick up an Android phone to play around with. Specifically, I think it would be really fun to have one dedicated for trivia night (Geeks Who Drink), so I would love to get the largest-screen Android smartphone available.
Are there any known issues with the Note 20 Ultra? I come from iOS so I have zero clue of what happens on the Android.
For example
HTC One M7 had pink cameras from overheating
iPhone 6 touch disease, iPhone 7 audio IC failure, iPhone X failing FaceID, iPhone 13 yellow screen of death
Galaxy Note 7 had the notorious exploding batteries
Are there any issues with the Note 20 Ultra I should be cautious of? Would it be a better idea to get the Note 10 Plus?
I have not really considered any Chinese phones on Amazon like the Redmi Note phones, but I suppose I could be convinced as well if they're better than the Note 10+/Note 20U.
I currently own an iPhone 14 Pro as my main phone. This Android phone is strictly for screwing around because of the massive screen.
I'm currently running into an issue where on desktop I have a hero section with words on top of an image. The words are on the left and the subject of the image is on the right. For aspect ratios that are wider, this works great, but for phones the subject gets cut off and the text starts to overlap with the image subject. I set a breakpoint for phones to display a different image (with no distracting subject), however I'm seeing that it is not showing this alternate image on some phones with pixel counts above my breakpoint. What is standard procedure here? Wondering if others have had similar experiences and how you work around this.
Ok I had no plans to upgrade my note at all but we had fiber att installed in my new construction house today. Not only do they send an installer, but a sales dude showed up an hour into the install unannounced to bend me over.
To my surprise They offered us a literal fckload of free money, l $700 in gift cards, money off my monthly bill and Two free ultra phones, waved every fee under the sun and I was able to trade a prob 8 year old s8 active that didnt work for a $1000 credit towards a s24 ultra 512gb. Plus my partners old phone got a $1000 credit and I got to keep my note 20 ultra .. anyways yes insane deal and happy I got to keep old trusty note.
Anyhow that was very off topic my apologies
BUT !
Why is this screen so lame ? My note 20 looks absolutely brilliant and this just looks Meh. I tried tweaking everything. Is this it really ? 4 -5 years of improvements and meh.
It was free so I guess it's whatever but man I am disappointed.
Also this thing is heavy, and thicker. I like it sorta tho feels solid.

Comming from a note20 ultra.I hate the cheaper flat screen look and over all increase in size and Weight. Now it won't even hold steady on my cars megnetic phone holder due to its size and bulk! It's really heavy on the hands as well!! My left hand holding the phone starts to get tired before my wanking right hand when watching naughty contents in bed. The phone does not feel well balanced. Prob due to the edgy nonsmooth shape, making it harder to hold /hence balance. I also fear for it falling on my face and giving me a nose bleed. The camera looks abit out of wack than the note20 even tho specs says it's a better camera.
The phone does feel abit faster and snappier UI. But prob due to a newer cleaner android phone.
Reason why I initially bought the s24ultra ;:. The biggest issue i have with note20 ultra is the media output issue with its usb c port (only a few wired usbc headphones work. It has issues switching between bluetooth music output in car and bluetooth calls while in car. On some websites videos would not play. Or when you skip forward video suddenly becomes unloadable.(just overall issue with media output)
