Best way to get names of all numeric columns in Pandas DataFrame?
cols2 is the answer I want (includes boolean as numeric) This has to be a bug in Pandas - the typesystem doesn't consider booleans to be a numeric type, so is_numeric_dtype shouldn't return True for a column of the boolean type. More on reddit.com
I imported a data set, there are non-numeric characters in cells which should only be numbers. How do I remove them?
This kind of problem is expected if you fail to identify how the text file is encoded. A better solution than simply resorting to regular expression substitution after the fact is to try specifying a file encoding parameter when you read the data in from the file. This may require that you directly call the import function you are using rather than letting RStudio gui limit your choices. More on reddit.com
Change of categorical data to numeric data in the required columns so that a linear regression can be apply to it
Can you share your code? Much better than talking about everything in the abstract. If you are using pandas, you can use pandas.get_dummies to encode categorical data numerically via one-hot encoding (see last example on this page) . More on reddit.com

What is the syntax for declaring a boolean in Python?
In Python, you can assign true and false boolean values to variables to define a boolean. You can also assign an expression that evaluates either of these values.

What is the distinction between tuples and lists of Python?
Lists are mutable, but tuples are not. The implication of iterations in lists consumes time, but it is comparatively faster in tuples. Moreover, lists take up more memory than tuples.

Numeric Data Types - Problem Solving with Python
Another useful numeric data type for problem solvers is the complex number data type. A complex number is defined in Python using a real component + an imaginary component j. The letter j must be used to denote the imaginary component.

Python Data Types (With Examples)
Since everything is an object in Python programming, data types are actually classes and variables are instances(object) of these classes. In Python, numeric data type is used to hold numeric values.

Python's standard data type also includes complex type (imaginary part is suffixed with the character j). Others like decimal and fractions are provided as modules. ... Some of the numeric types can have alphabets like e, b, j, etc in their values. Which implies that you cannot use variable names beginning with a number.

complex numeric data types examples ----------------------------------- Complex Numbers: Numbers with a real and an imaginary part, denoted in the form a + bj, where: a is the real part, b is the imaginary part, and j represents the square root of -1. These complex data types provide flexibility and structure for storing and processing data in Python, making them essential for a wide range of programming tasks.
