Some things you should consider to help you choose a double stroller: Do you want a tandem stroller or side-by-side? Tandem strollers are traditionally easier to fit through shopping aisles, but harder to steer & maneuver. Because of weight balance issues, tandem strollers often default to putting the toddler at the top facing the parent and the baby at the bottom (e.g., Uppababy Vista has this arrangement by default). Some toddlers will HATE this arrangement as they want to be facing out looking ahead rather than riding backwards. Any tandem stroller that does allow the toddler to sit in the front seat will be difficult to lift up & over curbs and other obstacles. Do you need a stroller with all-terrain capabilities? You might if you live in an area with bumpy sidewalks, no stroller curbs (older towns), gravel paths, grass paths, or you like taking nature walks on trails Will you be traveling a lot? Taking the stroller on lots of excursions? If so you may want a very lightweight or more compact double, but this often means sacrificing storage space OR having smaller weight & height capacities of the individual seats Will you often be solo with your 2 kids? If so, you may want a super one-step fold mechanism and a lighter weight stroller to make your life easier. How much space do you have in the trunk of your car? If you’re tight on space, you’ll need to look critically at the Folded Dimensions of any double you’re considering Do you need to put your newborn into the double stroller, or can you babywear them until they have good head control to sit in a double stroller seat? I didn’t look at Nuna so I can’t speak to that but I was briefly considering an Uppababy Cruz over a Vista. In a perfect world, I think I would like our kids to be about 2.5 years apart, so a double stroller could be useful, but hard for me to know whether our older kid will prefer to be out of stroller by then. I read a lot of comments about the Vista being hard to steer as a double, though that could be the case for any stroller with that kind of configuration (rather than a side by side). I did ultimately decide to get the Vista, but time will tell if I choose to use it as a double or not. Not like I have to buy the extra seat right now.

In terms of discounts, Bloomingdales is running a promo right now (including the Vista and various other Uppababy products) where if you spend $1000 you get either a $200 or $300 gift card — I can’t remember. So if you’re interested in that I would definitely snatch that up and then use the gift card on your carseat or another big purchase that you can also get from Bloomingdales. I never shop there regularly but the deal worked out great!

Just grab something from the trash. Just this weekend I found two double strollers in the curbside garbage. One was a BOB revolution is great shape. The other a Baby Jogger City mini double or something. Both in nice condition,high quality devices and will last several more years. If you get a nice one for free it tales a lot of worry out of whether it will last or not. More on reddit.com

I have the baby jogger city select - it’s similar in setup to the uppababy vista, but both seats are the same size. That means both have a 50lb weight limit and overall it’ll last you longer. We love it! The configurations were a bit limited when using it with an infant seat, the toddler seat couldn’t really recline but I never found that problematic because my oldest was never a stroller napper. And it wasn’t a concern after those first few months. I love the versatility - I can leave the second seat in the trunk if I only have one with me or I can turn the rear seat to face me if that kid won’t stop bugging their sibling. It maneuvers easily and has worked great for our family. They’re currently 2 and nearly 4 and we still use it as our main stroller. I also disliked the setup of the Nuna, because no one was going to be happy sitting in the basket. It’s just not convenient. And also found the mockingbird to be cheaply made. I’ve done so much stroller research over the years and it seems like the perfect double doesn’t really exist, you have to compromise somewhere. More on reddit.com
