Nuna Pipa Lite Weight Limit [AB]
I personally wouldn’t go with a 22 lb limit in case you end up with a larger baby. You’ll (potentially) be replacing the seat months earlier than you would if you go with a standard 30-32-35 lb option. It just doesn’t give you the longevity that having the extra weight does. The other thing to consider is the Nuna Pipa is notorious for having install issues and often requires a rolled up towel or pool noodle to be used to get the correct recline. This is actually noted in their install manual!! IMO, a car seat shouldn’t require a pool noodle to be used for installation… it seems crazy to me. If you haven’t already, check out the Facebook Group “SEATS for kids discussion community”. There are certified CPTS (child passenger safety technicians) who can give excellent advice on which seats are recommended, which ones have issues (such as the Nuna) and help with fit-checks. Nuna Pipa Aire - thoughts?
Honestly, due to the manual thread harness and the barely less weight (I wonder how much is the canopy? Bc the canopy will stay for the duration, but the inserts won’t), and the limits… (the pipa rx has 4-32lbs, 32”, vs the aire rx of 4-30, 30”). I would just get the regular rx. Basically it reads like the difference is merino wool, magnetic buckle holders vs inserting buckle holders, and some tiny amount of weight? Meh. Not worth $150. Edit: I wish they would have redesigned the no rethread harness head cushion (since it sometimes caused fit issues for the littlest babies and kiddos at the larger end with big heads) rather than switching to a manual rethread. Did I do something wrong by keeping my large baby in a bucket seat so long?
There’s a third limit to infant seats - their heads must be an inch or more lower than the top of the shell when buckled. And it seems like most infants hit that limit first. Both of mine reached it around 7 months. And they were only about 28-29 inches tall and under 20 lbs at the time. They just had long torsos as babies. So it’s possible the others just reached that limit or didn’t want to lug the seat anymore. I’d check whether she’s past that limit and move her immediately if she is. I don’t know of any convertible seats that don’t take up more space than the infant bucket seat while rear facing. Since she’s over 1, you can at least position it a little more upright which sometimes saves an inch or two. We use and love the Nuna Rava, any of the Britax clicktight seats are also great for being easy to get a proper install. There’s really so many options that a lot comes down to your family’s priorities in a car seat. More on reddit.com
Did you feel like your baby outgrew their infant seat before hitting the manuals listed height/weight requirement?
Yes. My baby was 22lbs and 28in at about 7 months when I switched him from his infant seat to our convertible. He was much happier! More on reddit.com

Replying to @cailee johnson Hopefully this helps! They have changed their weight max’s within the past year/release of the original models so it can be confusing. *please no hate towards the person who commented. #nunapipa #nunapiparx #nunapipaurbn #infantcarseat #fyp Nuna Pipa review Nuna car seat demonstration Baby gear | TikTok

I’m expecting in June and my husband and I are shopping for car seats. We really like the Nuna Pipa Lite but are worried that the baby will outgrow 22lbs weight limit quickly. Is this something we should be concerned about? What are your experiences with the Pipa Lite?

We have the regular Nuna Pipa that has a much higher weight limit and I don’t find it heavy at all. My older kid was about 18-19lbs when she got too tall for it (less than 1” above her head, though she was technically within the other proportions) but 22 lbs is pretty low and lots of kids are still short enough for an infant seat but 22 lbs or above before or shortly after 12 months. I’d probably go with the regular model unless you’re both small people with family histories of small babies
