Anybody ordered a Nuphy keyboard and received it in Canada? Specifically Quebec? How much were the custom duties and how long did it take to arrive?
Thinking of ordering the Halo96!
Is Nuphy.com legit?
Is Nuphy.com safe?
When Nuphy.com started?
What's up guys --
I'm new to this Mechanical Keyboard world. I really just found the first keyboard on Google and thought it was good enough to start with. I asked for my sister to get it for me for Christmas.
I sent her this link here: https://nuphy.com/collections/shop/products/nutype-f1-aw20-late-summer-night-ver?variant=33126725255277
Well... She just called me and asked if the website is a scam website. When she put her PayPal information in, it forwarded her to eBay... And then when she went back and did it again, it forwarded her to some celebrity gossip website.
What's strange is that I just walked though the process to ensure that it wasn't a scam PayPal setup that just "looks" like PayPal, but it's legitimately PayPal's payment processing center.
All in all -- I told her to change her PayPal (Call and repot fraud, just in case), and her eBay password.
But I'm definitely sketched out by this... Wondering if anyone has some insight as to what's going on with them? After doing a quick search on Reddit, I see their Indygogo didn't have a bump-free takeoff.
Also... Looking for a mechanical keyboard that's around $130, so if there's any recommendations, feel free to drop below! Steering clear of these guys, and whatever they got going on.
Update: I went with the Keychron. It has worked pretty good for a year.
It gets a little finicky when it dies, but for the most part it's great.
Yes. I pre-ordered the Air 75 a few days before their pre-order period ended on 10/5/2021. It arrived yesterday.
The company was active on instagram and communicated with customers there to explain shipping delays.
I'm very impressed with the build quality and design. Everything about it is vastly better than I had expected or hoped for.
I haven't found them available on amazon.ca or any local third-party seller so far.
They are only available on the official NuPhy website but the delivery fee is almost the same as the price of the keycaps, which doesn't make sense to order (the keycaps are 19 USD and the subtotal is around 35 USD before taxes).
I'm looking for Shine-through nSA Profile PC Keycaps / Air75 V2 / Black.
Any suggestions?
Had a horrible experience with NuPhy. Two things:
-
They refuse to accept returns if the package is opened or the product is used. Yet their refund policy on their website mentioned that we may return the item in original condition if we are not completely satisfied with our purchase. How do we find out if we are satisfied if we don't even open our package??
-
The first package is lost in transit. They kept me waiting for a month since the package dispatch date and after my four email chasers. Eventually this is resolved by them sending me another package through DHL. They also did not honor the $25.99 shipping cost refund eventually and gave me $10 refund (for a $163 order) instead for my troubles.
This is literally the first time I write negatively about a brand on reddit, as this is really disappointing given how much they spent on marketing and how well known they are.
Edits for updates (First off, thank you all for your attention!!)

Lodged a PayPal chargeback. NuPhy asked for a return to an Asia container address in order for me to receive a refund.
-
The return address reads super odd - "XIANGGANGKWAI CHUNGRMC&D,1/F,BLK.2 ,KWAI TAK IND. CTR., 15-33 KWAI TAK STREET, KWAI CHUNG, H.K. Tel :36931229 A/C : (ECM2294TCN)Attn : Thomas". I looked it up, XIANGGANG seems to be Hong Kong..

Shipping cost is prohibitively expensive: very likely costs ~$100. Will be asking for a US shipping if they have any; if not, I guess it is what it is.
(see screenshots below)
1.1 (Refuse to refund)
1.2 (Return policy on their website)
2.1 (Offered shipping cost refund at the beginning)
2.2 (After sending out the replacement, they refused to honor the shipping cost refund, and said that they would refund the shipping cost only if I waited for the original package, which had never arrived. And the "premise" they mentioned was not brought up in their original offer)
Update
Are there any added import fees for Canadian buyers? Any Canadians with any experience?
No idea if these types of posts are appropriate for this subreddit but mods are welcome to remove my post if it violates any rules.
I recently purchased the Halo v2 keyboard directly from NuPhy and after a few hours of testing, I decided it wasn’t for me. I tried to initiate a return under their advertised “30-day no-questions-asked” return policy, but was denied because I had discarded the waifu stickers that came in the box.
I offered to pay for the missing stickers just to complete the return, but NuPhy refused. Instead, they offered a $13 partial refund. After I pushed back, they upped the offer to $30, which they falsely framed as “nearly 50%” of the purchase price. The keyboard cost about $100 (there was some deal going on), so $30 is closer to 30%, not 50%. Either they're really bad at math or they were intentionally being deceptive here and hoping that I didn't know how to do basic arithmetic.
In addition to this, they never published the review I submitted on their website. They've left me no choice but to initiate a chargeback with my credit card.
Overall, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Their bad-faith enforcement of their return policy just felt super scummy to me. Really disappointing as the keyboard itself is great, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. All this over waifu stickers. I wish I was making this up.
Update: I initiated a chargeback with my credit card company. They conducted their own investigation and ended up crediting me the amount for the keyboard. I ended up gifting the keyboard to my friend.
I want to order the halo 96 to Australia and with the lack of reviews on the Australian website has made me sceptical if it’s legit and whether it’s better to just order from the US website
