Several months ago, I got a parking ticket in New York. I forgot about it, and only months later did I decide to check whether I had paid it or not. This experience made me wonder if there was a service that could automatically notify me about new tickets. To my surprise, I couldn’t find one, so I decided to create it myself! 😊
Yesterday, as a weekend project, I built a web service that helps you:
• Check parking and camera violations for any license plate in New York
• Receive automatic email notifications for new violations
• Use the service without any registration, on desktop or mobile
• Data Source: New York open data.
Let me know if you find this app helpful, and feel free to share any ideas for improvement!

I got a speeding ticket (traffic violations bureau) 7 days ago. I wanted to plead and pay online but the dmv website cant find my ticket. It’s getting closer to the 15 day mark. I tried calling dmv and the hotline isn’t available due to covid (according to the answering machine).
Any ideas what I should do?
Two months ago I was driving through NY state back home to MA and got a speeding ticket. Unfortunately I accidentally threw it out with some old receipts.
I don't know exactly where in NY it happened, since I don't live in that state and was just passing through on the highway. At first I figured it wouldn't be a big deal, because the officer took my correct address, so they'd just mail me a stern letter when the ticket didn't get paid and then I could pay it. But that was almost 2 months ago and I haven't received anything about it.
I don't want to forget and then have a bigger consequence way down the line. How can I track down this ticket?
