I like owning my own helmet just so that if I have a big fall, I’ll know what the damage is or have it assessed. I don’t know how rental shops keep track of wear and tear. I also collect stickers from resorts so that’s always fun. All Oakley helmets should be compatible with Oakley goggles. Moreover, all good helmets are compatible with all good goggles. A google search should lead you to reviews of these products which answers these kind of questions. I don’t imagine that safety standards have changed in between the introduction of the two helmets so the mod3 should be sufficient. More on reddit.com

If you're a helmet manufacturer and your product saves someone's life you send them another one. Good brand. There's really no better marketing opportunity than "Yeah our cool helmet got totally snapped in half keeping this dude's brains from spraying all over the slope and he's still alive enough to make reddit posts about it." October 21, 2023Anyone tried out the new mod bc?
It’s a backcountry specific helmet. It has a triple rating for climbing as well but it’s not going to protect you as well from falling impacts as a traditional snow helmet would. Not sure how durable this helmet is but typically these helmets can be damaged just by being dropped or other kinda of mishandling. If you are planning on using it in the resort it’s the wrong helmet to choose from. Really this helmet is more of Oakley’s answer to the Smith Summit helmet. More on reddit.com

Hello,
What is the difference between the Oakley Mod 3 and Mod 5. To me, they both look great. So is it worth paying the extra £50 for the mod 5? Are these helmets both compatible with all Oakley goggles?
Side note: this would be for my second proper skiing trip to France and I can confidently ski blues and reds, is it actually worth it buying a helmet or should I just rent?

I have the MOD5 and love it, works perfectly with my flight deck goggles. Very comfortable and lightweight.
