Thoughts on Oakley Mod 7? I really need to upgrade my helmet to have one that has MIPS and really do love the Oakley brand for non snow related stuff. Been eyeing their Mod 7 helmet for a pretty good deal and honestly it beats getting a helmet + a nice set of goggles. Want to hear peoples thoughts or if anyone has them already and would like to provide their feedback! Thank you!

I have a Mod7. I like it, but: I haven’t been able to figure out whether the Mod7 replacement lenses on Oakley are the full goggle (which they need to be cause it’s all one piece) I have good vision but I would love to have the option for clear lenses at night The boa system for tightening is susceptible to rubbing on the jacket collar and loosening unintentionally. I wish it locked You really have to take the helmet off to put the goggles on top. You can’t get a good click in by doing it without visual confirmation and alignment As for style, it’s super cool. I can actually ski and I care about my head, so if anyone in the line is like “oh Jerry” it’s kind of short lived cause I’m not a douche and I have some skiing ability. So, I’d say get it, but also make sure that you have a set of flat light/night goggles unless your vision is really good.

I have had the Mod7 for a few seasons. I like the helmet, but... the Goggles are sometimes a pain to attach. Lots of times I need to takes my gloves off to make sure they are set. This results in the lens getting smudged frequently. Also, let's say you have an eye itch or sweat or anything you want to wipe away, it is not an easy task. You have to take the goggle completely off, do what you need to and then re-attach. No quick pull away and put back down. The left side of where my googles attach just broke away from the main plastic, so it is now really hard for them to attach. I think this was broken on my last flight. If it gets to a point where I need a new helmet, I really would not get this model again.
