I ask you gamers. Is Obsidian Entertainment studios really that amazing game makers? Or was it a one hit wonder. I’m sure many out there think Fallout: New Vegas is the best Fallout game. And a all time classic. But I ask you this. Is Obsidian really a great game maker? Or on this particular time. They just happen to hit a home run. I give you exhibit A: The Outer Worlds. I’n my humble opinion. A “good” game. It had it fine points. But to me. Enemies design was meh. Loot was not really exciting. Though dialogue Ans story were interesting. I really didn’t enjoy. Their other games. Does any of them really jump out at you as great games? South Park game was niche. Grounded?? Meh.

What say you gamers? Fallout New Vegas a fluke? Or the genius of a good studio?

With the news of Obsidian not doing so hot right now I figured I'd compile my opinions on their games so far. I think they are still doing great work but the latest releases have failed to wow. Personally, I think they need to be more ambitious but at the same time I worry that'll likely mean longer development cycles. They've been releasing (on average) about a game a year which is pretty good and I resist the bloated productions that have become the norm in the AAA space.
