I found it in a comment over at a recommended repack site and I was wondering, have any of you had success with it?

I have seen ocean of games had been dethroned in this server , I been using it for past 4 years , can anyone speak about an issue regarding it.

TL;DR: Installed a game from OfG (Oce@n of G@mes), it's installation file had a modified version of software which is used to disable and enable windows defender. But that modified version destroyed my windows defender and installed some trojan files. Now stuck with no windows defender and would have to use MalwareBytes instead :|. Dumbass me, should have searched up first to see if OfG is safe or not, currently.

Story:So basically, I quit gaming a few years ago and recently wanted to get back into it. Since I don't have cash lying around, I thought of pirating Just Cause 2 (to refresh some childhood memories). And went to the website that I used to use back in the day, Oce@n of G@mes (writing original name delete's the post as I can't mention malicious websites like OfG). At that time, I never did get any viruses or issues with it, and they even provided tutorial on how to install the game, It was perfect at that time.

It was written that the post updated in 2022 (despite being the post was actually made in 8 years ago). Ignored it at first, installed the files, and now I ran the setups, there was a peculiar step in it, Run "Defender Control V1.6" I didn't pay that much attention and ran it without any second thoughts, since it was pretty common for me to temporarily disable the antivirus when pirating games back then, had to do it manually

Everything went well and the game worked, but that "Defender Control" exe file had an option to re-enable the windows defender, pressed it so the defender come backs on. But it showed that it couldn't do it. Their was also a cmd prompt running in background eating 2gb of ram. At that moment, I thought it might be some sort of restart issue. Went to sleep after that, wake up this morning and started up the laptop, windows defender showing up error that it can't be started.

Started the troubleshooting it, and found out the original website that made the Defender Control software, and on it, the OP wrote that they have been getting emails that a version 1.6 being used to spread a malware. So quickly installed MalwareBytes and ran a test, and found 8 trojan files installed into the registries, quarantined those

Even though I feel the system might be fine now, I can't get back win-defender, tried searching up on internet, and the only solution seems to be a system reset, but can't do it now, so will use MalwareBytes from now on.

I downloaded cod:ghosts from it and when i try to install the setup, it tells me to disable the antivirus. Should i do it or just delete the files?

I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this site. Does it contain a lot of malware Or is it safe?

I have heard a lot abt it never used it though the site seems sketchy is it though?

EDIT : I ran superantispyware and bitdefender once again. It's clean!

First of all , I did not download from ocean of games , he said that his laptop was running slow though he bought it only last year , so I decided to check his laptop , it was super laggy , i went to the windows security, and it was just pure blank , then I saw that he downloaded from ocean of games and disabled his defender , so I download malwarebytes and ran a scan , it saw around 17 detections , i quarantied all of them , what should he do now ???

Hey guys please help me to get rid of a malware that got into my pc after I downloaded a game from site oceanofgames. I tried each and every tutorial from youtube, internet and I did contact Microsoft support and they suggested me to a hard reset. I did malware bytes scan and it returned 117 detection. I quarantined them and after that it suggested me to do a restart but my pc was unable to restart it got stuck in a loop where it says diagnosing your pc and it returns to the same screen again. I eventually got rid of it just by using restore points method but now it isn't allowing me to install Malwarebytes again and cmd sometimes pops up on its own and something pops up that says clearing history.

I downloaded fifa 19 from oceanofgames.com today and look what happenned.

What should I do????

There are so many websites called ocean of games now and they all look the same.I mean you can easily get a malware on your pc

Downloaded Horizon Zero Dawn from Ocean of Games (which I now know is suspicious). Installed everything, followed instructions, and the game ran okay. But then I noticed Windows Defender was disabled! Tried fixing it, but nothing worked. Read the megathread - turns out Ocean of Games is a risk. Downloaded Malwarebytes and found a ton of viruses. Should I just remove the viruses and keep Windows, or is a reinstall necessary? Worried about the consequences of keeping it.

Ive tried Ocean of Games a lot. After being scammed by another website named gamergalaxy.net, i was desperate and tried to download FIFA 15 through Ocean of Games. The download took 15 GB and a lot of time but at the end, they told me to get a 'license key'. Anyway i clicked on the button and it took me to a fraudulent website that told me to do a bunch of surveys and download apps. I knew it was a scam. I dunno if this is just in my country India but it happened to me. Be safe from scams yall.
