So I was just about to buy the plugin after I tried the Demo. I found that there is a standalone license and a subscription one.
The subscription is about $240 while the others are above $500. What is the big difference other than that the subscription can have 2 GPU's maximum?
I read that the standalone license supports After Effects. So if I get the subscription, will I not be able to move my C4D file with Octane to AE?
People obviously pay the above $500 for a reason, I just want someone to make it clear for me please.

I'm planning to buy a perpetual license but i'm so confused with all of their "Enterprise Box License, Enterprise Maintenance Upgrade, Offline USB Dongle" details. Does anyone know the price for that?
Can i buy it without having to pay for maintenance, etc... i don't know whether they have limitations to only 2 GPUs or its only one.

No you can not buy without maintenance, what it offers is, you’re essentially buying a box license for a year of maintenance and updates, after your one year is up, you will no longer be able to update newer versions of Octane BUT you will be able to keep on using the box license itself forever. Only a studio subscription is limited to 2 gpus. You can refer to the site for detailed information

The only differences between full licenses and subscription is that the latter has a limit of 2GPUs/license and network rendering is not supported. ORC is a subscription service which right now comes with an extra subscription license for free, in your case you will probably not use it as you say, this is to make sure everyone with access to ORC has also access to a version of Octane standalone.

There is an old student version floating around but that‘s probably useless by now (v1.0 or something). Enterprise allows for more than 2 GPUs to be used while Studio is for max. 2 GPUs and also the cheapest version available to you/everyone. It‘s 19.99$/month which can be a lot of money for a student (speaking as a student myself) but at the end of the day it‘s a pretty good deal for what you‘re getting, I still wish there was a education version available, maybe limited to 1 GPU. Oh well. It‘s also possible to get Octane completely free if you‘re using Blender, which isn‘t an option for everyone though, including myself, for various reasons. Hope this helps!

No student version that I am aware of. It’s a bit cheaper if you buy by the year assuming you’ll use it all year. The enterprise license let’s you use all of the gpus in one system, and enables network rendering. With network rendering, you will need a render node license per slave, but that is cheaper than the full license. Sorry wish it was cheaper myself!
