To close this, I ended up getting a new key from a vendor, 1 of those that sell the keys at lower cost sometimes promoted on Utube, then went to the MS 365 site n used that key to validate n download.

So the choices are to either buy them a monthly subscription, payable annually, or to use the “perpetual” version.
Support ends in October, so while the license is perpetual, the support and updates are not.
Perhaps consider if doing this now to save a few bucks is worth the effort if you have to revisit installs in October anyway.

I wish I was kidding in needing a book to explain it to me, but I have read through about half a dozen pages on the topic and don’t get it. Does anyone know if there is just an ISO file out there that I can download to install Office Standard 2019, just like I did with Office 2016 Standard? My team and I just realized this week we never started using the 2019 version of Office and only have a few months before 2016 goes out of style. We would like to at least buy ourselves another year until we have to convert the whole organization over to 365, specifically since we have enough 2019 licenses under the MPSA to cover the whole company if we uninstall 2016 first.
EDIT: Never mind. I am seeing now that the end dates for both products are the same, this October. We both forgot that too. I wish they would let me hire an extra guy so we only have to do two jobs each instead of three.
