I've had the la-z-boy they stock in the store as my home office chair for about 16 months. I'm a big dude, 6'3" 260# with a muscular enough build, so I can be tough on furniture. I use it the better part of 8 hrs on most weekdays and it's held up really well. It hasn't hurt my already lousy back so that's the biggest plus. I bought 2 of these chairs about half a year ago. We’re about 200lbs and 130lbs. Both of us found it comfortable and haven’t had any issues with it. I will say that it’s not my main chair, but we haven’t had any issues sitting in them for 8+ hours either. Does it feel like a $2k chair? No, but it’s not bad for 5% of the price either. I love Costco, I'm there every week. Most of my friends & family do the same. I am unfamiliar with the other brands Costco offers, but I do have some (third person) personal experience with the La-Z-Boy "Manager's" & "Executive" models as now ~5 relatives/friends have purchased one to try out over the last 2 years or so. All of which had eventually returned them due to discomfort within a few weeks. No one (in my life) have tried the Mesh or Big & Tall versions, so no opinion on those. I don't find any satisfaction in hating on the more affordable budget options out there...but yeah, for whatever reason, everyone I know who has purchased one has returned it...which I found pretty interesting. My experience could very well just be an incredible stroke of luck though, so don't just take my word for it! I’m looking for a new office chair and wondering if anyone has experience with the ones Costco carries. I know brands like Steelcase, Herman Miller, and Haworth are the usual go-tos, but I’m indecisive af, and most used office furniture stores only allow exchanges, not returns. Costco’s return policy is unmatched, so buying from them would give me peace of mind if I end up regretting my choice.
I see they carry HON, La-Z-Boy, Lillian, and a few others—anyone have experience with these? How do they hold up for long hours of use? Looking for good lumbar support and seat comfort (bony ass problems).
Also, shoutout to Costco’s return policy—I just returned a 3-year-old mattress due to sagging with no issues. Would love to hear your thoughts before I pull the trigger!

For years they stocked a basic $100 mesh office task chair on their floor called the metrex IV (Bayside Furnishings) that I've loved as an office chair. If it is in stock on the floor, give it a whirl.

If this is going to be your daily driver, then pass and spend the money on a nice chair. If these are for around a conference table, they will be good for that.

Do not buy that chair! They are sold under various brands- La-Z-Boy, Seeley, Serta, Staples and a few others. It's the same cheap chair. While it may look nice at first, what will soon happen is that the fake (bonded) leather will start to peel, exposing the fabric underneath. This happened to me after about 4 months. While unsightly, I didn't care at first because hey, I work from home so it's not like I need to impress anyone. However, what happened next was that after the plastic had peeled away, the adhesive, fire retardant and whatever other chemicals were now exposed and seeped out, giving me a seriously bad rash. I ended up throwing it away after about 7 or 8 months. By that time, the covering was almost completely gone from the seating surface.
