The Click-to-Run for Office 365 Configuration.xml file is used to specify Click-to-Run installation and update options. The Office Deployment Tool is a downloadable tool ( 2013, 2016 ) that includes a sample Configuration.xml file.

December 9, 2019I don't know who needs to hear this, but use the Office Deployment Toolkit.
I use the ODT all the time, or used to at least when ever it was needed... since everything is 365 now, we just have the user login that way. More on reddit.com

I create a XML File on config.office.com for my Office Setup. I disabled the Programs (Publisher, Access, Skype). After the Installation the (publisher, Acces, Skype) appears. It is depend from the Updates ? Or the Configuration? I diabled this. Why appears that?

So, i used the Offline Office Deployment Tool. I create a Folder names "ODT". The Tool generates me in the folder the XML-Files and the setup.exe. I configurate the XML-File. I install that in my test virtuell mashin. It works! After i get a Update, the excluded apps dont visible. But if i install that in my real envoirment. First they show me a Message "This feature a disabled, please contact your administartor". I activate the registrykey (useonlinecontent, an signon). After the activation, i can login. But if i Update the Office, the hidden Programs(Publisher, OneDrive) are visible. I delete some Registrykeys. It also not working.
